2 Predictions And A Lesson

Now that the Dems have taken over both houses, here are a couple of predictions I agree with.
1. The MSM will finally start reporting positive news on the economy.
2. The MSM will not report as much, if at all, voter fraud. Also, Republicans will not cry foul on elections, or bring out lawyers...I hope.

Finally a lesson I learned.
Polls don't seem to be as much bullshit as I once thought. Every poll I saw said Dems would take the house and possibly the Senate. Can't say it was luck.

Kerry Sticks His Foot In It, Again

John Kerry made a comment yesterday that got quite a few people's panties in a bunch. Including lefty Bloggers. Check out the video here. Kerry is now claiming that he wasn't talking about our troops, but about Pres. Bush. To be quite honest when I read the quote, I thought he was talking about Bush. When I heard the quote, well it sounded a little different. Overall, I still think he was talking about the President, but no matter. I am still happy about the shit storm. This wouldn't have been the first time he said something like this and now I will just sit back and enjoy watching him squirm.

Update:Bush Speaks Out Against Kerry's Comments I think Bush knows that Kerry was talking about him, but since Kerry was ripping on Bush to begin with, then of course Bush is going to extend the same courtesy. Priceless.

Just A Little Story

I have been wanting to write about an incident that happened some time back for a while now, but I have been so busy lately that I never had an opportunity. Now I do. Super!

I think you all know by now that my favorite watering hole is an Ethiopian place called Jarra's. I have blogged about this place before. HELL! I think I have called each one of you while getting drunk there before. Remember? Do you guys remember when I do that? Huh? Do you?
I guess you can call me a regular at Jarra's. I mean really. I am like Norm from "Cheers" at this bar, but instead they say "Blogust" when I walk in. Over the past 8 months I have naturally been able to meet other Norms at Jarra's. And we all run tabs like Norm and we drink beer like Norm and talk about work and get fat like Norm and yadda yadda yadda.

Anyway, every regular at this bar knows where I stand on politics. Mostly because I like to shout it to the moon. (or is it howl it to the moon? No idea, but I get off on it that is for sure.)

One of the regulars at this bar is named Collette and she is Lesbian and she likes to argue with me. (by the way, her being a lesbian is important to this story). So she is a lesbian and she likes to argue with me, but not in a bad way. In a good way, if there is such a thing. You know, like lets agree to disagree type stuff. So just recently she brought up the whole Foley affair, which I really don't care about, and started making claims that Republicans are hypocritical with their family values, and how Foley was on some Family values committee or some shit and that he just proves how full of shit the whole party is and blah blah blah.
So I say "The difference between Republicans and Democrats is this. When a Republican is caught with his pants down he will resign...usually. A Democrat will take it to court." Of course one has to back up such a claim and so I mentioned Gary Studs. The Democrat Congressman who wasn't busted e-mailing a page like Foley, but actually having sex with a 17 year old page back in 1983 and then went on to be re-elected. You know what she said? "At least it was with a girl!" Isn't that funny? I'll let you guys chew on that for awhile. Those are moments we pray for.

By the way, the page wasn't a girl.

Arrested Development Season 3 review

I just watched AR season 3 and I think it officially jumped the shark. I know everyone was saying Fox was crazy for cancelling this series, and before I saw the final season I agreed. I almost bought into the "America keeps Everybody Loves Raymond and dumps Arrested Development thats how dumb we as a society have become" talk, but now I realize that this final season had to go regardless of our overall IQ. Maybe businesses that are driven by money do know what they are doing. Just thought you'd all like to know.

665,000? More Like 50,000

A medical journal called the Lancet posted a study that claims 665,000 Iraqi civilians have died since 2003. I find this number to be shocking. Not because of the loss of life, but because of what appears to be a blatant mishandling of the truth. Are we to believe that Iraq has lost more people during this war than the U.S. has ever lost in any of the wars it has fought? Are we also to believe that all the headines of 18-30 deaths were extremely inaccurate and that the real count is 770 lives a day? That is quite a margin of error.

But already, the Oregonian is running this report on its frontpage and I am sure SF Comical is doing the same thing. On December of '05, Bush announced that Iraq had lost 30,000 civilians and currently, according to Micheal Medved, the Iraqi Government puts the count at 50,000. Could they both be so wrong?

I just got a very nice, glossy, 4 page fold out in my mailbox. I assume other Californians reading this got one today too.

Its from Phil Angelides, the Democatic candidate for governor this year. All it shows is 4 pages of pictures with Bush and Arnold together. That's pretty much it. No where does it say ANYTHING about Angelides. Not who he is, what he stands for, or any plans he may have. NOTHING!

This twerp is going to get his ass demolished at the polls. One of the many reasons is that he's a classic bash Bush liberal. His brain dead, no plan thinking goes something like this:

"If I just chant 'Bash Bush' then I'll get elected. Oh, wait... I'm not running against Bush, I'm running against Arnold. Oh well, same thing, no?"

Getting his flyer in the mail today has made me laugh harder than I have in days. I went to his web site to get more of his BS so that my euphoria would continue, and wouldn't you know it, this is linked on his front page.

At this point I'm sure all or most of you have heard about the horrible tragedy that occured at the Amish schoolhouse in Pennsylvania as well as the shooting and assault in a Colorado high school over the last week. I find myself torn as to whether I'm glad these terribly deranged men took their own lives or were killed by police at the scene, thereby speeding up the process, or whether I would like them to face justice. Sadly, I would go for the former since we in this country are not allowed to treat the truly wicked in the manner they deserve. Could you imagine scores of people marching to save this "poor man who obviously cracked under the pressure of an unhealthy upbringing and the burdens society had placed upon him." Down with the death penalty? I think not. Those poor families. I'm not a big prayer guy, but sometimes you just have to.

I wrote this a couple of days ago, and I wasn't sure I was going to post it. Then I came across the following bit of information and realized there are even more people who need the death sentence, even if they are not committing an actual crime.

HARRISBURG - Members of a radical Baptist church plan to picket at the funerals of five Amish girls slain in Lancaster County Monday, believing God is punishing Pennsylvania for the sins of Gov. Rendell.
Word of the protests prompted Rendell today to issue a public plea for everyone, including members from the Westboro Baptist Church in Kansas, to respect the privacy at the funerals planned for tomorrow and Friday.
"I am asking everyone, the people from the church in Kansas, I am asking everyone to please observe the Amish religious tradition and the Amish desire to carry out their funerals in utmost privacy," Rendell said. "Do not try to intrude on their privacy at probably the most terrible moment of tragedy the Amish community has had in its history here in America and Pennsylvania."
The Topeka church announced its intentions on its Web site, GodHatesFags.com.
The church has gained national prominence for picketing at the funerals of American soldiers. They say God is punishing America for its tolerance of gays.
In a rambling news release interspersed with fiery Bible passages, the church said the girls were killed "in punishment for Gov. Ed Rendell's blasphemous sins" against Westboro Baptist. It cited two news media interviews the governor gave soon after he signed legislation this summer banning demonstrations at services for military personnel.
It went on to say that the church "is continuing to pray for even worse punishment upon Pennsylvania."
Asked about the church's view that he brought on this tragedy, Rendell responded, "They are insane."
"This is the same logic that says that we are losing American soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan because there are too many gays in America," he added.
Rendell said he has been in contact with one of the elders in the Amish community "to see if they want state police presence in case the church demonstrates." He said he plans to reach out to elders again later this morning for an answer.
The governor said he would not do anything "that the Amish community doesn't want." One option, he said, is to make sure that if there is a demonstration, it is "far enough away so they don't interfere with the privacy of the funerals."
Last month, church members protested at a funeral home in London, Ky., where a service was being held for a soldier. They shouted and held signs that read "America is doomed," "Thank God for 9/11," "You're going to hell" and "Thank God for dead soldiers."

I love this representation of the possible bird flu epidemic, but it leaves out some important things. First of all Lee (who you'll notice is an [evil] businessman) was infected by a monkey, that itself was infested by Global Warming (pictured above). Then monkey was then sold to a pet shop in the United States by Patrick Dempsey. The bird flu went airborne in a movie theatre, and if not for the heroics of Dustin Hoffman and Cuba Gooding Jr., many innocent people would have been bombed to oblivion by our evil, heartless rulers here in the U.S. Sadly, Hoffman and Gooding Jr. have thus far been unable to stop Global Warming, so everybody's going to die anyway.

The Dow Jones broke an intraday record today while oil prices dropped. The previous record was set on Jan. 14th 2000 before the dot com crash. Hmmmm...all of this and right before an election? I wonder how the MSM is going to spin it.?

I chatted with Blogust yesterday, and one of the points that came up about liberals is that they just don't see the liberal bias that is pretty much in all news media. Yet, when it comes to Fox News, they believe it is so blatantly biased that they don't listen.

Here's the overly-biased report. This is an AP report linked on Fox News' front page. It lists figures, voting totals, it quotes Teddy Kennedy, it talks about divisions, it mentions progress and hurdles. I mean, talk about the bias!

Fun Weekend

I was back in San Luis Obispo this past weekend for a friend's birthday party. It was nice seeing old friends. Sorry FryAnEgg, I was not there for long. I'd like to see your house some time.

Went to breakfast with some friends Sunday morning and got the usual liberal group think conversation by which they all speak their mind and just assume everyone else agrees. I kept my mouth shut, but my girl stood up for some points which made me proud. Seemed the conversation revolved around Katrina and Schwarzenegger's latest (gasp!) comments over an open mic about how you don't mess with black/latino mixed women because they are hot blooded. As usual (and like the Ann Coulter comments) its not about whether what was said is the truth, but that it was not PC.

Anyway, the conversation was funny, because I was at a table of mostly girls and their comments went like this:

1- "I just can't vote for Schwarzenegger because of how he treats women."

2- "Yeah, but I also don't know much about Angelenies."

Here's why I laughed, because in my head my answers were this:

1- "But you voted for Bill"

2 - "You obviously don't know anything about Angelinies, since his name is Angelidies"

Just Because It's Awesome.

This one goes out to Lord Kingly and CJ, being that they are San Diego residents. Rob Halford, of Judas Priest, has been known to spend his time in Hillcrest, but I am sure Lord Kingly and CJ already knew that.

Judas Priest really started to become famous when they became targets of Tipper Gore's watchdog group, The Parents Music Resource Center (PMRC). The group was resposible for all the "Parental Guidance: Explicit Lyrics" labels on albums...oh joy. As you would guess, many musicians weren't too crazy about the idea. Here are a couple quotes.

ABC is airing a mini-series/docudrama for the anniversary of Sept. 11th. It is titled "Path to 9/11." The odd thing about this series is that it takes shots at the Clinton Administration, as well as, the Bush Administration for not taking terrorism seriously. WOW! MSM taking shots at the Democrats. Can't wait to check it out. As one would expect, liberal bloggers are up at arms about the docu-drama. One argument I have heard them use is that the mini series shouldn't be taken seriously since it is a docu-drama and not a documentary. Apparently, documentaries are accurate and infallible, but we all remember Fahrenheit 9/11.

Clinton is getting in on it too. He is now trying to silence the media.
