Los Belkings
Found this video and I'm psyched. It is from Los Belkings and they are one of my all time favorite surf bands. They are from Lima Peru and got started during the 60's, but I just got into 'em about 2 years ago.
Anyway, hope you like 'em.

I'm sure you've all heard or read about it, but GM and Chrysler are getting ready to merge. That in of itself is newsworthy, but the part the effects all of us is the fact that they are trying to complete the merger soon so they can get a nice Federal bailout to offset any costs. Of course, the companies played the fear card by saying if they are not properly socialized the rest of the nation will suffer due to a severe economic downturn. The real kicker in the nuts, they want to get this done before a new president takes office. I wonder why? Bush, everyone knows you are a commie and they are coming for the money.
I Think...

CJ Is Right...
I am going to get an aneurysm. I can't wait till all this is over.
Grrrrr!
Anyway, I heard this really great story about John McCain on the radio today and I want to share it with you.
During the Vietnam war, a man named Bud Day was captured by the North Vietnamese and sent to the Hanoi prison camp. Day was able to escape from the camp, the only man to have done so, but was later recaptured by the Viet Cong and sent back to prison. His right arm was broken as punishment for his escape and was set crooked so that he would never be able to fly an airplane again. (he was a pilot, ya know)
John McCain, who was more seriously injured and emaciated, became his cell mate and after seeing Day's condition, took it upon himself to gather bamboo sticks, rebreak Day's arm, and set it properly by using the bamboo sticks as a splint. As a result for what McCain had done, the prison guards seperated the two men and held McCain in solitary confinement for 2 years.
When Day was finally sent home, a U.S. medical doctor asked if the Vietnamese were kind enough to set his arm for him. Bud Day informed him that his arm was fixed by "Dr. McCain"
Bud Day returned to flying after the war was over and from what I understand, is still flying today.
Isn't that a lovely story? Anyone ever heard it before? Yeah, I thought so. Me neither.
If I hadn't been listening to the radio on my way to the Charger game I may have never heard it.
So there you have it. My post for the day....I think
Wait! Am I missing something? I feel like I am missing. Oh duh! Silly me, I almost forgot. Colin Powell, one of the men who is knee deep in the Iraq War, a Republican and a military man, just endorsed Obama for President and Blahbitty blahbitty blah blah blah.....

The Relevant Post Of The Day
Here
I was pretty stupid when I was a kid and didn't finish many a reading assignments either, but i assure you it had nothing to do with autism... I think. Although I wish I did have autism because the article is saying time out shouldn't be used at all. At least not on autistic kids. And with the way the autism epidemic is going, it's a wonder who that will include .
First they took away the beatings and now no time outs? What else is left?
Taking away all the teachers fun aren't they.
I am not saying this little girl isn't autistic, but the real issue for me is this.
3 hours does seem a little harsh. and in a cupboard or whatever that was? When I was a kid it was like 15 minutes.... 1 hour tops. Anything that warranted more than that and it was off to the principal, but class rules do need to be enforced.
I am really starting to wonder where all this "autism" stuff is leading us. I have become so paranoid about liberals that I see a conspiracy in this as well.
By the way, I remember my teacher teaching us students a clever way to remember the different spellings of principal and principle. Principal must be remembered as your pal. Princi"pal".
Well my second grade princi"pal" had me in his office one time to give me and this other kid a spanking for kicking in peoples lunch boxes outside the classroom.
Fortunately for me he didn't get ahold of moms for permission.

"W"
I might actually go see this piece of shit. That's right, I said "PIECE OF SHIT!"
How could I say such a thing without seeing it first? easy.
I didn't see Alexander The Gay either and I know that's a piece of shit. Anyone want to argue with that?
Anyway, here is the tomatometer
and the tomato Synopsis: "Whether you love him or hate him, there is no question that George W. Bush is one of the most controversial public figures in recent memory. In an unprecedented undertaking, acclaimed director Oliver Stone is bringing the life of our 43rd President to the big screen as only he can. W takes viewers through Bush’s eventful life -- his struggles and triumphs, how he found both his wife and his faith, and of course the critical days leading up to Bush’s decision to invade Iraq."
From what I understand they don't touch on 9/11 at all. Now how the hell can you do a movie about Bush, talk about "the critical days leading up to Bush’s decision to invade Iraq"
and not mention 9/11? My source must be mistaken, because there is no way Stone is that bias or that stupid.

...I hope this results in someone murdering their neighbors sooner rather than later. Can i say that?
Okay.
So, the Washington Post has just come right out and said it. I mean, we all know where the media and most newspapers stand on the election, but a straight up endorsement? Maybe other papers have done this, I don't know, but when did that become reporting the news? It's an interesting endorsement to be sure. They cite McCain's perceived shortcomings with the understanding that he can not over come them. They also point out Obama's perceived shortcomings, but with the hope and belief that he will see the light once he is given the throne. By far my favorite part, however, is the final paragraph-the conclusion, if you will- where they basically admit they have been seduced by his smooth talk. That will be our new leader's greatest asset? Well, when the time comes to sit back and watch it all unfold, it should at least be interesting.
Teach Your Children Well.

I don't have a good link on this yet, but apparently Jenni McCarthy's son no longer has autism. Supposedly she told People magazine that she asked God to help her cure her son, then put him on a no dairy, no wheat diet and that cleared it up. Simple as that. Epidemic averted!

I Have To Admit...
...This pissed me off to no end. (content warning: don't open at work)
I should just ignore it, but man it makes me mad and I don't really know why either.
Why should I get mad? I don't know McCain or Palin, but for some reason.... I can't explain it.

So strange that the Middle East doesn't let Europeans walk all over their shit the way Europeans let the Middle Easterners.

Hijacked Iranian Ship Was A Dirty Bomb Meant For Israel On Yom Kippur
Within a period of three days, those pirates who had boarded the ship and opened the cargo container with its gritty sand-like contents, all developed strange health complications, to include serious skin burns and loss of hair. And within two weeks, sixteen of the pirates subsequently died, either on the ship or on shore.
....She was an enormous floating dirty bomb, intended to detonate after exiting the Suez Canal at the eastern end of the Mediterranean and in proximity to the coastal cities of Israel. The entire cargo of radioactive sand, obtained by Iran from China (the latter buys desperately needed oil from the former) and sealed in containers which, when the charges on the ship are set off after the crew took to the boats, will be blasted high into the air where prevailing winds will push the highly dangerous and radioactive cloud ashore.

Wrong, wrong, wrong, Obama. If that's all you were then I wouldn't be so nervous. Instead you are portrayed 24/7, and rightly so, as an inexperienced Junior Senator. You are a kool-aid sipping, Saul Alinsky reading, Prius driving, 2nd Amendment destroying, radical, politically expedient, socialist.
Who wants somebody like that? You! You and your followers, that's who.
Thank God for Fox News.

Leary regarding autistic children:
"There is a huge boom in autism right now because inattentive mothers and competitive dads want an explanation for why their dumb-ass kids can't compete academically, so they throw money into the happy laps of shrinks . . . to get back diagnoses that help explain away the deficiencies of their junior morons. I don't give a [bleep] what these crackerjack whack jobs tell you - yer kid is NOT autistic. He's just stupid. Or lazy. Or both."
Gold. There's my write-in candidate.

And my roommate has informed me that I made a bad investment decision
A little prevention/treatment humor for those who find little to smile about with their investments these days . . . If you had purchased $1,000 of shares in Delta Airlines one year ago, you will have $49.00 today. If you had purchased $1,000 of shares in AIG one year ago, you will have $33.00 today. If you had purchased $1,000 of shares in Lehman Brothers one year ago, you will have $0.00 today. But, if you had purchased $1,000 worth of beer one year ago, drank all the beer, then turned in the aluminum cans for recycling refund, you will have received a $214.00.Based on the above, the best current investment plan is to drink heavily & recycle. It is called the 401-Keg.
A recent study found that the average American walks about 900 miles a year. Another study found that Americans drink, on average, 22 gallons of alcohol a year. That means that, on average, Americans get about 41 miles to the gallon!
Haha, drinking humor

If Anyone Needs To Find God
It's Bill Maher. Maybe if he knew God, he wouldn't have been compelled to lie.
but then again, if he knew God, he wouldn't have needed to make Religulous to begin with.
For me, I've learned it was easier to be faithless than it was to have faith and I still battle with it.
Spiritual exercise is a new experience, but I know it is necessary.
Just like it's easier to sit on my butt than go to the gym.
Or easier to eat microwave burritos than to cook.
Or to wait for mom, dad or govt. to take care of me than to go to work.
Bill Maher is a rube and he shows how shallow of thinker he is by picking on and profiting on such an easy target.
If he feels like it is a good idea to insult people who try to enrich their lives and to become better people through faith, well then I too feel sorry for him.

I think Comrade would have something to say about this.
"Also, Mr. Obama would consider officially opening combat positions to women. Mr. McCain would not."
and then goes on to compare african american men to women.
"There was a time when African-Americans weren't allowed to serve in combat," Mr. Obama said. "And yet, when they did, not only did they perform brilliantly, but what also happened is they helped to change America, and they helped to underscore that we're equal.
And I think that if women are registered for service -- not necessarily in combat roles, and I don't agree with the draft -- I think it will help to send a message to my two daughters that they've got obligations to this great country as well as boys do."
I don't know what to make of this. I just thought it was interesting.

Enjoy A Big Fat "Are You Kidding Me" Moment.
This entire article is pure delusional gold, but the following-regarding O.J. Simpson's recent conviction for armed robbery, kidnapping...etc.-might be the most ironic thing ever printed:
It's hard to feel closure when you don't believe O.J.'s guilty verdict was about real justice. Given the reaction to the verdict, the case is clouded by a strong odor of payback and revenge.
Seriously? Slap a "not" before guilty and fire that statement back to 1995 in a time machine, crazy lady. Oh, and for the record, I have no problem referring to William Kennedy smith as a rapist. that guy is totally a rapist.

It irks me to no end the way the gay community pushes young people to identify gay as early as possible in order to increase their base. In this age of increasing sexual ambiguity, it seems to me that many young people who may only be in an experimental phase are being forced to proclaim their "allegiance" to homosexuality. It's ironic that back in the day, the hetero-Christian community were the ones pointing and shouting "gay" at any questionable action, and now it's the gay community that's doing it.
Another problem I have here is the acknowledgement of sexual orientation of children under the age of consent. Would the gay community prefer for us to lower that age to 13 or 14? I suspect they would not mind, because then they might make a case for lowering the voting age. Maybe they can hook up with NAMBLA and get to work on this. I know that may seem obtuse, and I am being facetious to some degree here, but my point really is that these people need to let the children be stupid children and stop trying to use them to further their political agenda. I fear they could be doing real damage with their tolerance-mongering.
Well, at least they're not making them sing about it.

Loving the idea of equal pay for equal work. No longer will we reward people for ability and hard work. Equality is the name of the game now.
And don't let me forget that there will be no incentive for someone to try and earn over $200,000 ($250,000 if you are married). The strive for wealth will finally be dampened and greedy money grubbers will no longer exist. (by the way, since married couples get taxed at $250,000, what is the incentive for both to work. Or to get married at all for that matter)
Investing in the Stock Market? Yeah Right! Pull your money out now while you still can, even though the market is shit, because if you don't it will be taxed 50% more in 4 months.

Lastly, don't forget our new allies, Los Tres Chiflados. The membership of this group has changed so much over the last 3 years that I can't keep up. But you can rest assure that Hugo "Moe" Chavez will be there. Amen to that.
There is more, but why bore us all. Now that we will be livin' in a Utopian society, well then, I want to go out and PLAAAYYYYYY!!!!!

The beauty of universal healthcare means no insurance companies, no doctor patient relationships, no incentive and no accountability. Awesome!
The wonders of the fairness doctrine and the death of talk radio. The only balance to the MSM. Bye bye free speech.
Ahhhh the Corporate tax. What a wonderful idea. Now we can drive the rest of them corporations overseas. GET OUT OF HERE YOU GREEDY PIGS!
Ooh ooh, I almost forgot. 3 new judges. People have been focusing on Roe v Wade for so long that they forgot about a lefty, I mean, utopian judgment that was ruled about 4 years ago. The new and improved version of eminent domain. Now that private property is no longer taken by just the state, but by another private party as well....? Well then I say "Hellooooo China."

SNOOZER!
That debate was as boring as can be. I watched about, ohhh, 10 minutes. The moment McCain proposed yet another bailout I threw up in my mouth a little, composed myself and then I split. Went to the office and read the threads on my computer. With all that said I have concluded one thing.
McCain needed a homerun and he didn't hit it.
It's going to take a miracle.

Oh My God!
This is the biggest crock of shizzle I have ever read. Not saying it isn't factual, but... well, see for yourself.
Normally this would be too stupid to pay any attention to, but I thought it was unusual being one of Yahoo news top news articles.
Ok, not at all unusual.

What???
President of the Los Angeles chapter of N.O.W. endorses Palin?
I have no words
I have no words
My Case To Lefties
Again, nice try on the Palin thing. You watched the debate and I saw your expression after it was over. Your tone has changed over the days. She did great and everyone knows it and unlike what I did with the McCain/Obama debate, I don't need to read the polls to tell me that.
Now that the Couric interview is behind her, because of this debate, she can go back to what she was doing before and that is to bash Obama and push McCain's agenda.
And she is doing it!
Her words carry a lot more weight now and I guarantee the "little foreign policy experience she has" argument will subside. (Biden has ran for pres twice and now once for VP and is a so called Foreign policy expert. Palin has been at it for 5 weeks and cruised through the last debate. That makes an impression)
As for Captain Know Nothing Do Nothing, B. Obama, he might be our next President, but remember, many people said the same thing back in '04 and a lot of my friends pulling for Kerry were like, "what happened?" I know that this election is a little different from the last election since Bush's approval ratings weren't where they are today and Iraq had not yet experienced the '06 catastrophe it has now gone through, but the more McCain successfully seperates himself from Bush, and the more he appears to be the man of experience, then the more people will look at McCain and Obama side by side. I like McCain's odds if that happens.
Also, It was one month ago today when McCain was leading in the polls and there is still a month to go. Anything can happen.
The Palin/Biden debate may not be the answer for a McCain win, but it has made the next two McCain/Obama debates much more important and it gave her politcal clout. Her future is very much in play for the Republicans.
Obama surged over Clinton and then collapsed in the last two months. The same thing could happen again. Obama will be pressed more on what he is going to do as president. But unfortunately for Obama, it is starting to appear that what he meant by change was that a Democrat will be president and not a Republican.
I think that if Obama wins it will be because of two things. People's hatred of Bush (and since he is a Republican...) and Obama's speeches (cult of personality). There is nothing else that he can point to.
Without a single accomplishment to his name, I think that this argument still stands.
Sure, people are pointing to the economy as an Obama strength, but if McCain/Palin can really push home that Obama will raise income tax (he keeps saying that only the top 5% will have a tax increase and the rest of the 95% of the population will have tax cuts, but when only 2/3 of the country pay income tax as it is and the top 50% of that 2/3 pay 97% of the total, and that small businesses making over $250,000 will be hit, it is hard to understand what he means. Federal welfare for the bottom 1/3 since they already don't pay anything?) capital gains tax, death tax, (etc.) and plans 1 trillion more in new spending, I think the people will realize that his idea of change is socialism and we now know how well the govt. is able to take care of the people after this last bailout.
To look on the bright side, Obama winning acclompishes two things for me. Proof that anyone can run for President and that the system of our govt. works and also that there will be more people voting Republican in 4 years.
Negative side, Obama will be worse than Jimmy Carter as President.

More Kids Sing For Change
Man, this is getting scary.
Can't remember where I ripped this from.
Can't remember where I ripped this from.
Comrades
I have changed my profile to suit the times. I am no longer going to debate which party is better. We are now officially socialists. Don't even begin to deny it because you know it to be true. Free Market capitalism is over and I don't know when it is coming back. Not in this country in our lifetime. Read this heartwarming article. Answers in life are a lot easier than we care to admit. There is no doubt that both the Republicans and Democrats have marched us down a brand new economic path. I don't care that George Bush wanted to privatise Fannie Mae. He didn't and neither did the Replubican house or senate when they had total control. Now we are in a bailout. Please don't try to engage me in any further discussions about the U.S. Econony. I don't care.

Joe Biden Said Whatever Came To Mind
After the debate last night, Karl Rove came on (came on? am I sure I want to say "came on"?) appeared on Fox news and pointed out that Biden made 10 statements that were factually incorrect. Not arguably incorrect, but factually. Ace of Spades has the number up to 14.

I got a kick out of this e-mail my roommate sent me while working in China. He is Dodger fan and is loving his chances. I have to admit that I am pulling for an L.A. vs. L.A. series, but the Angels are down right now, so "Torres Revenge" will do nicely
"How about them Dodgers! Woo-hoo! 2-0 to the ravine, kill the cubs and I like are chances against th ePhill’s much better then those damn Brewers, who aren’t doing so hot. God I’m getting worked up I’m spitting on my damn screen as I type out loud. Wish I had something, to,… a …. Clean it off, oh how about this"

Hippy Hogie
How do hippies do it? I just had a hippy sandwich from a hippy cart called "heritage street food" and I just finished gagging the second half down. (I like to eat and didn't want to throw it away)
To top it off, the darn thing had meat on it and it still tasted like I was eating cardboard. Go figure.
By the way, anyone want to guess what style of food it was?

I Want A Mistrial
In case you haven't heard, Gwen Ifill, the moderator for tonights debate, has written a pro-Obama book that is to be released on inauguration day. This gives her a vested interest in tonights debate outcome, becuase if Obama is elected, she stands to sell thousands. If not, the only people who will read it will be her friends and family.
But how would someone like Ifill be able to influence the debate one way or another without seeming biased? All she does is ask questions, right?
Ace gives us an awesome example of what she and Biden might do. This is a must read. Very entertaining.
Oh well, I still feel that Palin has her head on straight and was the right pick.
UPDATE: Ifill's cousin says Palin is offensive to black women
“From the first day, Palin presented herself as shooting a bear in the morning, field dressing it, cooking up the breakfast, diapering the babies, passing legislation in the afternoon, cleaning the house, satisfying her husband, etc., etc., etc. And it’s just not true,” she wrote in an e-mail interview. “It’s hard to be an average working mom, really hard. And when women who are privileged present as though they have it all together, it’s offensive to black women.”

Earmarks, Earmarks, Earmarks
You hear McCain talking about things called earmarks, but what are they? They are usually non related items tacked on to an important bill. The tacked on items tend to be things to pay off those who gave you money during your campaign, or things that will make you look good to your constituency. Seems to me that they are also a way for lawmakers to play catch-up on things they are behind on, like: "Oh crap, forgot about that issue. I promised to have it done last week, guess I'll just tack it onto this bill..." Since most people focus on the big issue the bill or law is designed for, these other tacked on earmark things never get noticed.
Here we are in this big financial "meltdown" mess, and the house and senate are still putting unrelated earmarks into a bill which is supposed to help with the US and global financial system. Here are a few earmarks on the bailout bill currently being discussed in the Senate. What an utter joke:
New Tax earmarks in Bailout bill
- Film and Television Productions (Sec. 502)
- Wooden Arrows designed for use by children (Sec. 503)
- 6 page package of earmarks for litigants in the 1989 Exxon Valdez incident, Alaska (Sec. 504)
Tax earmark “extenders” in the bailout bill.
- Virgin Island and Puerto Rican Rum (Section 308)
- American Samoa (Sec. 309)
- Mine Rescue Teams (Sec. 310)
- Mine Safety Equipment (Sec. 311)
- Domestic Production Activities in Puerto Rico (Sec. 312)
- Indian Tribes (Sec. 314, 315)
- Railroads (Sec. 316)
- Auto Racing Tracks (317)
- District of Columbia (Sec. 322)
- Wool Research (Sec. 325)
More discussion here.

Pro-Life Obama
Before I start I want to say that, once again, I don't care to talk about my abortion views on this site. Nor do I condemn people for their views on the matter. So please don't take this post the wrong way.
But I have to say that this is the biggest steaming pile of dung that I have ever read and needs to be exposed. Obama is very pro-choice and to say otherwise is just plain stupid. He has voted against the ban of partial birth abortion and for giving medical assistance to babies after a botched abortion. Those are just the facts and the facts don't point to a pro-life stance one little bit.
Again I am not here to question why someone is pro-choice or pro-life, but this sort of dishonesty sickens me and I think this woman would agree.

Bush Effigy = Good Obama Effigy = Bad
My co-worker's daughter goes to this school and so I am a little interested in this story.
Though I think it is stupid to erect effigies, not to mention an effigy of Obama hanging from a tree (considering the whole Jena 6 fiasco), I also think that the amount of attention paid to this is a little shocking.... No wait, what am I talking about? It isn't at all shocking.
These 4 students are going to be in trouble for awhile and even after all the facts get sorted out, the only words people will remember from this will be: Obama, tree, hang, christian school. Oh, and maybe the words "scholarship and leadership program for minority and low-income student" will be remembered too.
Anywho, enjoy this picture from Oregon Live.

Wonder what the title will be. Any ideas?
I'm going with, "The Palin Experience" subset "McCain Gives On The Job Training"
I feel kinda bad posting this since Palin seems like a decent lady, but hey, "the absurd" is funny to me and the adult movie industry takes the cake.
