Am I Overreacting Here?

The first things to go in a socialist state is our property and our freedom to assemble. A religious group is one of those basic forms of assembly and it will always be a thorn in the side of a socialist.
Socialists want people to worship the state and bow down to an erected statue of the fearless and enlightened leader.
Religious people, on the other hand, often reserve their praise for a higher power and it is no coincidence that Marx zeroed in on religion as being the opiate of the masses. In order for the state to gain full support from the masses, the peole have to be convinced that they need to worship the state's very existence. Marx knew that and so did every dictator from Hitler all the way back to the Babylonian kings of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. (not to get all biblical on you, but those three were thrown into the furnace for not bowing to a statue of the king)
I am losing hope in people when it comes to faith and property. I see history repeating itself.

With that I leave you this. Though it seems to be about a harmless problem dealing with parking, I can't help to think the county worker has a big problem with religion.

Hand Me My Walker.

Now, I was a little young for the original theatrical release of Alien, but it later became and continues to be one of my all time favorite movies. It's somewhat of a relic from the bygone days when movie studios made horror movies that weren't afraid to slowly burn through character development and ambience before kicking you in the face with the good stuff. This should provide one more nail for that coffin of creativity. Sad. This should pave the way for a remake of Aliens (a strong contender for my favorite motion picture experience ever) and that officially makes me a geezer. Yeah, that does. Not all the other stuff. A remake of Aliens is the straw, people.

Update: Actually, I know exactly where I stand on this issue. The joyless buzzkills of my town voted to ban alcohol on the the local beaches in an effort to make all of our beaches more family friendly. So, fuck them, they've got plenty of places to take their stupid kids. Leave the damn seals alone. Or club them to death. Either way is cool.

Immunization. I wonder how long before some kid dies of something their parents refused to immunize them for, causing their parents to sue the Government for not forcing the immunization. You know, like they're forcing that child to have chemotherapy against his parents' wishes?

Garotzuva. Could, might, virtually, predicts...all your favorite "maybies" contained herein. My favorite part is this:

"...you thoroughly confused climate-change deniers..."

Yeah, they call the other side "smelly hippies" but they don't call them "thoroughly confused." And more importantly, there are those who don't believe in climate change, and there are those who don't believe man is radically changing the environment. And those who don't believe that either is happening at the rate Al Gore would have us believe. I wish they could get that straight.

God, I Love Sports

It would not be too much of a stretch to say that sports is my greatest passion in life. Specifically Charger football and Padres baseball. With those two teams it might be hard for someone to understand my love of sports. The let downs far outnumber the accomplishments, yet I persist. And it's because single great moments can make up for years of crushing disappointments. The feeling of seeing something as it happens and knowing you've witnessed something special that will be remembered can be overwhelming. Friday night, Lebron James closed the gap in comparisons to Michael Jordan when, with quite literally a second left on the clock and his team in danger of going down 2-0 in theEastern Conference finals, he nailed a seemingly impossible three. Even if you don't like basketball, if you are a fan of sport, you have got to feel it for this Cleveland news team.


God, I love that feeling.
