Heavy handed symbolism? Mmm...that sounds good. I'll have that.
Charles Darwin is...William Wallace. They'll never take our DNA!!! He's a hero, get it? Fucking Christian trogolodytes are going to hate this shit.
Needs a buggy chase.

What many people don't know about Darwin is that it took him 23 years to publish Origin of Species after the Beagle returned from the islands. It wasn't until another man, Alfed Wallace, published a piece that was almost indentical to Darwin's theory that he finally felt the pressure and published the book. Though Wallace beat him to the punch, Darwin is the one credited for the discovery.
Alfred Wallace was, by the way, a believer in God.
You're not saying that they might actually use this movie just to make Christians look stupid, are you? That doesn't seem like the sort of thing the entertainment industry is into.
Agree. Whether religious or not, one must have faith in one's beliefs.
I've heard that about Alfred Wallace before. Darwin and Wallace were actually in communication with each other and Darwin cited Wallace's ideas to support his own work. They were, in effect, working together.

Dude, love the Shymalan twist in your comment. Let's write the screenplay!
I think we should too. Too often evolution is used as a weapon rather than a scientific theory. It seems that this movie will be no different.

Yaaaaawn....
Darwin, evolution, blah blah blah.
God, 7 days, blah blah blah.
Faith is required for both and I've learned that they complement each other more than they contradict each other.
