Smile

Because the 70's sucked.

Not sure I totally agree with the "we have more leisure time" comment, but through the awesomeness of technology I have been able to work from home for close to 6 years now.

Why Don't They Ever Hold These Things In The Summer?

How smart is it to hold a global warming conference where its about to be winter? I guess that shows the cluelessness of this entire movement.

"Denmark has a maritime climate and milder winters than its Scandinavian neighbors. It hasn’t had a white Christmas for 14 years, under the DMI’s definition, and only had seven last century. Temperatures today fell as low as minus 4 Celsius (25 Fahrenheit)."

Things Are Heating UP!

Har Har Har.

More here.

Get A Rope.

Al Gore is a murderer in Illinois.

Oh, Shoot Me Already.

Seriously, I have no beef with the Ukelele:

But as usual something innocuous and kind of endearing takes on a whole new meaning when people start taking it too fucking seriously. What's the over/under on number of days before I have to smash some hipster jack-off over the head with his 'uke?'

Pow!

I know Blogust finds the original of this photo questionable but I find this version super solid and totally worth every minute I spent making it. Yeah!

Another Black Conservative

The novelty is starting to wear off. Now if we can only get some of these guys in office.

Jon Stewart On Climategate

Here

This is funny, but I take exception to the tone in the end the clip. It smacks of the idea that conservatives don't want to believe about climate change because they want to rape the environment while liberals are so concerned with nature well being, that climate change is a natural fear. Personally, I don't think the left cares about the environment anymore than the right and vice versa, but I do think the left wants climate change to be real because it would pose a referendum on capitalism. Polar bears just act as a mascot.

Why not

Litigation Lottery!

No embed code so you'll have to click here to check this out, but the gist of it is that a mother is suing the post office for returning a letter to her son in Iraq stamped "deceased." Turns out, her son was fine and it was just a horrible mistake. So, of course, she wants a bunch of money for being upset. Fuck the lawyers. Fuck the media for giving her a voice here.

We Have A Winner!

This is maybe the greatest Garutzova freak out headline ever!!!

The War Has Been Lost In Afghanistan

So says Fred Thompson
I find his words to ring true in a lot of ways.

But I don't want to talk war, let's talk football instead. About ten years ago, The Minnesota Vikings and The Atlanta Falcons played the NFC championship game. The Vikings had a 14-2 record that year and Randall Cunningham was silencing his critcs. Nothing was going to stop them from going to the Super Bowl and I couldn't wait to see The Broncos being punked by Purple People Eaters.
As expected, the Vikings were in control of the game early and I was glued to the T.V. All was right in the world and the though Falcons scored before the half, I was happy to know that the better, purer and more righteous team was going to win.
But the unthinkable happened. The "Queens" began to fall asleep in the second half and sense of dread began to creep into my world. Randall was looking like he was in a holding pattern and Green seemed to be dithering.
Trying not to lose rather than trying to win appeared to be the new game plan and the Falcons would not fade. They just hung around and hung around until finally they were able to tie the game with only 30 seconds left. Vikings get the ball back and Dennis Green opted to kneel into overtime rather than go for the big play. Right then I knew The Vikings were officially on the ropes. Though the Vikings won the toss, the tone was set by Dennis Green's pussy ass decision and Randall Cunningham, who battled his entire career with a bad public perception of his ability to win, was starting to look confused. It was almost as if he knew his coach was losing confidence in him and he began to forget his spectacular season.
Then in overtime the unthinkable happened. Morten Andersen, who had been perfect all year, missed a 38 yard field goal by a foot, failing to seal the game. Afterwards, an empowered Falcons team marched, scored and won.
And I cried a little and never liked Dennis Green again.

By the way, did I mention that Obama is a douche?

Once Again, San Diego On The Wrong Side Of Sports History

The Perfect and The Good

Just found this quote in a programming book, of all things. John Stossel uses this saying a lot in comparing the juxtaposition of intentions and results. He usually uses it when talking about politicians' never ending quest to create utopia but in the process they end up creating hell.

“It is important not to let the perfect become the enemy of the good, even
when you can agree on what perfect is. Doubly so when you can't. As unpleasant
as it is to be trapped by past mistakes, you can't make any progress
by being afraid of your own shadow during design.”

San Diego water rates to go up Jan. 1

Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 2:12 p.m.

Water rates will increase for San Diego residents beginning Jan. 1 after the City Council approved a 7.75 percent hike to cover the higher cost of buying imported water.

The council voted 5-2 for the increase, with members Carl DeMaio and Donna Frye dissenting. Council President Ben Hueso was absent.

Taxpayers had a chance to block the increase if more than 50 percent of ratepayers would have objected in writing, but the protests fell far short of that threshold.

The rate increase is the sixth since 2007.

Here's An Interesting Thought

So we all know that the left has been looking for any excuse to convict Bush and Cheney for war crimes, but they can't get an indictment.
So now that KSM is being tried in civil court, classified information on how he revealed his answers will be exposed. Therefore, this trial isn't for justice, but to convict Bush and Cheney. Anyone agree with that?

MC Now Has Admin Permission

Since I have been AWOL for like 2 months now (well it's actually been since I moved from Portland, really) Maximum Colossus now has admin permission. That means, MC, you can change the format, images, delete and what have you. Go Nuts!
I am currently looking for a new job, then I can look for a new place to live and the world will seem normal again... maybe.

Also, I invited Ryan in China to write on the blog as well. He sends me stuff and I never get around to posting em. Sorry about that buddy. Miss you guys up there in Portland. :)

Uh, Wow.

So, I am not at all what you call prudish towards violence in entertainment. Video games, TV, movies, whatever. It isn't on those industries to raise children in my opinion. But, I'm not so sure with this mission from the new Call of Duty game. The action starts at about 1:35 and you don't have to watch too much to get where I'm coming from.

Interesting.

Earlier reports have witnesses to the Fort Hood shooting claiming the shooter yelled out "Allahu akbar (God is great!)!" before opening fire. Now articles like this, where Obama asks everyone not to jump to conclusions come out, and I can no longer find any media references to the shooter yelling that at all. I'm going to go ahead and jump to several conclusions.

Porch Monkey

I just finished watching Juan Williams argue with some other black dude about racial witchhunts and Rush Limbaugh. Juan William's argument was that Rush is so hated by the left that they were willing to spread rumors about racial slurs Rush never made, but people were ready to believe. While the black dude next to him made the comment that Rush did make racist comments and he should own up to it.

In the end Juan Williams made a good argument against his opponents "Barack the Magic Negro" argument and the fucking guy responded with "Why don't you go back to the porch, Juan" I shit you not. I am waiting for it on youtube.

Once again it is okay to make racial comments if you're black and direct them to anyone including other blacks, but if you are white and a conservative, you can get nailed for comments that were never uttered. Let's face it, liberals are racist mother fuckers. AS A RULE! and have been able to convince the country that it's conservatives who are racists. The reason Rush was kicked out of the bidding was because of a race witchhunt. I am convinced of that.

Okay, Just Another Little Taste.

So, one guy at my work brings up how the British High Courts called An Inconvenient Truth alarmist and wouldn't allow it in schools without opposing views. Here's what one of my other coworkers replied:

What if I said I knew of a documentary that proved the Holocaust never happened and that a British High Court had determined that some film about the Holocaust was over-stated and inaccurate? Would that be credible at ALL? Are you seriously telling me that you would find such things evidence that the Holocaust was a “hoax”? Judges aren't historians. Documentarians can make films purporting to refute anything. One sign of ideology is when you give credibility, willy nilly, to evidence that has none.

"Sounds like something Hitler would say" would have been more concise, but that's pretty good.

Why Would Someone Lie About Something Like This?

Acorn lady did not kill her husband.
Money quote: "The couple divorced in 1987, but attempted to reconcile and lived together from 2002 to 2005, Ronald Kaelke said in a telephone interview. In 2007, the couple traded allegations of domestic violence and received separate restraining orders against each other, he said.
“As far as her murdering an ex-husband, that’s news to me,” Ronald Kaelke said. “She’s definitely got problems and goes off the wall sometimes.”"

People Get So Political...

...now that Obama's in office. Of course, I'm sure I'm just being a sour puss when I wonder how these people might have reacted if the board had allowed their children to watch a speech from George Bush when he was in office. Of course, it was okay to disrepect George Bush, because he was white.

Of Course.

Well, leave it to Carter to come out and say what all the Dems have been dying to say. I can see them all sitting around going, "Let's make Jimmy say it. He'll say anything." I don't know if black people are less qualified to run this great country, but I know you weren't, buddy.

Another 9/11 Post

Two other events we should remember on this day
Operation Iraqi Freedom
and
Operation Enduring Freedom

Friday Video

I realized that the last post was a bit of a downer and I apologize for that and so I am going to post something that is more uplifting.
Football does wonders in bringing people together.

9/11 Post

I never have anything relevant to say about 9/11. Partly, because it sounds cliche, but mostly, because I don't really care. I didn't fully understand the latter part until I read this really great post from Ace.

"We've been mythologizing 9/11 bringing us closer than ever before; maybe we can interrupt this myth-making from time to time to note it actually divided us more than ever in our history. It was actually my intent to write the same old cute story of that feeling of being united; when I got there, however, it was a bitter cliche and a lie I choked on."

I am shocked at how something as easy as 9/11 is so devisive. How something so obvious has led to, "it's only obvious to you" type remarks. This day has taught me one thing, there is a group of people who don't want to be associated with us, but still call themselves Americans. There is a group of people who are contrary for contrary's sake and will refuse to see eye to eye with who I feel are reasonable people. This same group is growing everyday, and I believe will ultimately destroy this country. I want to believe the U.S. will last forever, but I don't. I want to believe that 9/11 means something to me, but a part of me wishes the towers were filled with these types of people. I would not shed a tear nor would I think of their families. Therefore, I think I may be more like the 9/11 truthers than I once realized. A part of me thinks a section of this country deserves it.

I know this is stinkin' thinkin' and I think their is only one option. I must pray so that my heart doesn't blacken like so many others have.

UPDATE: After re-reading this post I felt myself screaming, "Shut-up you whiner!" But I am not going to erase it. I am leaving myself open for deserved criticism.
Have fun.

Hubby Hubby

Ben & Jerry's has changed the name of one of their flavors from Chubby Hubby to Hubby Hubby in support of Vermont's support of Gay Marriage.
I have no comment on this one. I mean I could point out that this particular flavor contains fudge packed pretzel sticks filled with nut butter, but I won't. That would be childish.

Charles Krauthammer Does It Again

Krauthammer defines what he sees as the result of Obama's diplomacy with Iran and Venezuela.

One More Reason To Love Fox News

First it was Glenn Beck (a loud mouth freak who is appropriatly placed in the 3pm slot, but makes for great T.V. and totally exposed Van Jones), then Don Imus (who is also a loud mouth but is supposed to be a marketing genius and so he is joining Fox business report) and now John Stossel is leaving ABC for Fox
What do these three have in common other than the fact that Beck and Stossel call themselves Libertarians? All three have enough star power to make Fox the premiere news station. With Charles Gibson resigning as ABC news anchor it is clear that more people will be tuning into Fox for their news and I think that is great. For you news junkies, I liken it to an NFL dynasty and I hope people will tune in long enough before the news media puts a salary cap on the networks to create more parity.

I Can't Wait For 9/12!

Can't Wait For Friday

Just sitting around listening to one of my all time favorite bands, The Oblivians, and I came across this wonderful video on youtube. What perfect accompaniment.

Susan Atkins To Be Released For Libyan Oil

Let's face it, the crimes of the Manson family is not so very different to the crimes perpetrated by the Libyan terrorist who was recently realesed by the UK on the grounds of compassion.

Like al-Megrahi the Manson family killed men, women and children without remorse in order, as I would argue, to start a "race war". Of course the Manson family acted on the orders of a freakish looking madman who charmed many of his followers while al-Megrahi worked alone. But with the heroes welcome he received by Libya, one wonders how much Gaddafi, another freakish looking madman, knew about the plot. (could this plot have been revenge for the death of his daughter just two years earlier?)

Now that Susan Atkins is dying of cancer, shouldnt' she be released on grounds of compassion? Of course not, but to me, comparing Atkins to Megrahi helps define the decision made by Scottland (a.k.a the U.K.) with regards to al-Megrahi's release. The only real glaring difference between the two is that Atkins has since shown remorse while al-Megrahi hasn't.
And since this is so obvious to me, I am forced to wonder what Scottland gained from it.

Therefore I do believe he was released for oil
I do believe Gordon Brown knew about the release based on that reason
and I do believe Obama was informed of the decision before al-Megrahi was let go.
And the reasons for my belief is based on what the pundits have been saying in the news lately.
Questions like "when has Scottland ever acted independently from the U.K. regarding foreign affairs?" and "when has the U.K. ever acted independently of the U.S. regarding foreign terrorists?" need to be answered.

I have thought before that it wasn't going to be domestic policy to sink Obama, but foreign policy. If people become suspicious of Obama's involvment of this case and if the war in Afghanistan is perceived as a failure, I don't think Obama will recover.

The President has one primary job... keeping the country safe. All this other stuff e.g. healthcare, cap and trade, stimulus etc. won't save him once the people see Obama as being weak and unable to keep this country safe. Even if his socialist programs work wonders, which they won't, Obama will be seen as impotent.

Maybe It's Good Thing I Don't Have Children

Because I don't see the crime in this.
Awwwww, just kidding.
But seriously, I have to admit that there have been times when I envisioned myself drop kicking a kid who wont shut up.

The Real Meaning Behind The Kennedy Funeral

Kennedy Was No Reagan

Nor was he his brothers, Robert and John, nor was he Princess Diana, or anyone else who was of any importance and recognition.
But he sure is getting a funeral as if he were.

I have been watching this funeral/memorial circus type thing on news for the last couple of days and it's been way over the top and a little embarrassing. I am expecting Elton John any minute to come out and sing Candle in the Wind.

And so I ask, what the hell is this all about? Sure it was appropriate to reflect on his life, but this? I think his importance is being waaaayyyyyy overstated.

Oh Fuck! A man who is now speaking is fucking crying.

I DON'T CARE!!!

Stupid T.V.

I'm telling you, I don't even think they care this much.

First comment on my work's FOOTBALL message board regarding news that ex-Giants receiver Plaxico Burress will serve two years in jail for shotting himself in the leg with an unlicensed firearm in a club last year:

I find ironic that our former vice president shot somebody while hunting and did not go to jail. Yet Plaxico shot himself and got 2 years.

That must be some of that Alanis Morisette irony he's talking about.

Well, Here's Your Problem Right Here...

...these bags were set for evil. So, the people of Seattle voted down the bag tax or whatever you call it, but it really didn't pass because of something the plastic bag industry did. You know, cause there's no way that the majority of the people really didn't want to pay for their bags. Right?

You Can't OWN A Cat, Man!

Well, I can, because I'm not a penniless hippie. Seriously, though, I worry that people will collect these free cats and sell them back to our government for $4,500. Such a cute ad, though. Awwwwwwwe.

It's His Land.

Sympathy For Unions? I Think Not.

If there was a place in the US you'd think unions would be safe, then the SF Bay Area would probably be counted right up there. But something's happened recently to shift that sympathy.

BART workers have the balls to threaten a strike during these tough economic times. And it ain't sittin' well with the local folk.

Astroturfing

This is a term being thrown around a lot these last few weeks. It means building up phony grassroots support for your cause.

The Dems have been accused of planting questioners in front rows of these town hall meetings. If you are from a group that supports the Obama plan, you get front row seating and side door entry. Everyone else has to stand in line and gets rear room seating or standing room. This way the newspaper reporters and news cameras covering the speaker are closest the the planted astroturfers.

The speaker plays the game and pretends these people are getting chosen at random. Barry O seems to be a big player in rigging the questions through astroturfers.

Here's a segment from Texas. This lady claims to be a doctor. She's not. She's a long time Obama supporter lying in the name of astroturfing.

Just insane.

Healthcare Reform Is A Two Part Solution

So says the smartest man ever.
At least I think he is.

The Revolution Will Not Be Televised

or maybe it will be.
SEIU thugs beat a man passing out "Don't Tread On Me" flags.

Prepare To Have Your Mind Blown Up.

They would have been cool with the Jack Nicholson Joker. Seriously. Heath Ledger's Joker was much more racially charged. Did you know that? Did you know that white people fear Obama because deep down we worry that at any moment he could turn into a violent street pimp?

So, Basically...

...this is his eHarmony profile video to Russia?

Speechless

Behold, the answer these geniuses have come up with. This has to be from The Onion.

If Obama Is Spock Then Palin Is Kirk

In the spirit of this blogs common Star Trek posts here is an articlet that compares Palin to Captain Kirk.

Here's Another One.

No mention here of what percentage of minority citizens come out to vote their Republican candidates into office. And minority candidates tend to run on a platform that appeals specifically to minority citizens, so why would I vote for them?

England Is Rad.

Kid gets in trouble for climbing a tree. Actually, American cops do the same thing. Paperwork everything to cover your ass. And here's why: When the parent says that he's afraid his child will be afraid to return to England, I can hear the lawyer he must have talked to telling him to establish some emotional distress. Fucking lawyers.

Video Games Are Racist.

Really, check it out. Couple of things, though. Unless I see some solid figures, I refuse to believe more Latino children play video games. The percentage of Latino children who play video games may be higher than the percentage of white children who play, but I doubt the overall head to head numbers play out that way. And secondly, how can you cite 50 Cent's video game as reinforcing stereotypes when it's based on an actual person who actually signed off on it? Come on already, we elected a black President. Can't we just get over this crap now?

Psychiatric Studies Are Depressing.

I want to slap these people around a bit. Especially the part where they dismiss all of us simple lay people. (What the fuck ever happened to "layman?" Were the ladies really losing their shit over that one?) I guess I'm not entitled to an opinion. I wasn't aware that we had the human brain so comprehensively figured out. That's why I'm a lay person. Oh well, any reason to give kids more drugs.

Now This Is A Lawsuit I Can Get Behind

Not that I feel sorry for this girl on any sort of intellectual level, I mean it's still buyer beware, but I do believe that the need for a college degree has been forced down people's throats and not everyone should get one or needs one. College is a racket for a lot of people and this girl is just one of many who has been sold a bill of goods.

I guess what I'm saying here is that on the outside I feel this lawsuit is B.S., but on the inside this story makes me cheer.

Happy Video Friday

Floater

For those of you who watch adultswim then you probably already have heard or have already played this game. For those who haven't, well then pass your time by poking a corpse down the river with a stick.

This Is Hot!

Read the story behind this new form of political satire

Almost Too Embarrassing To Watch

Swiped this from a friend off Facebook.
Question: why do so many health food hippie aerobic type people I've seen throughout my years, such as wholefoods customers and what not, look so tore up? For living such a healthy lifestyle one would think it was a little more noticeable.

Newsweek Asks For Help From George Bush?

You know the shit is hitting the fan when a journalist, a Newsweek journalist, is asking for aid from the Evil George Bush.

Culture Of Corruption

I have been reading Michelle Malkin's new book, Culture of Corruption and I am really disappointed. The book obsesses over names no one knows, events no one has heard of and childlike name calling. To me it seems like she opened a copy of any radical left-wing book, took words like Wolfawitz, ne-cons and Halliburton and changed them to read Axelrod, Chicago Politics and Acorn, repackaged it, and sold it as an original.

The Fall Of The Roman Empire

The new sexual revolution is on it's way up and it is going by the name of Polyamory.
Personally I think this is a result of the slippery slope effect. Morality is relative, marriage is undefined, integrity is subjective and love is fickle. There are no guidelines and no expectations; therefore, there is no responsibility.

I have seen these types of trios on youtube before and they have become a real hit. Words like "courageous", "understanding and "forward thinking" are used describe these people who have shunned America's "puritanical" culture.

But it is not right to call it forward thinking. I think it is better described as history repeating itself. It is not forward thinking or bravey we are witnessing, but a hard life lesson. The result of which will not turn out quite like they hoped.

And now I leave you this. It's from Paint You wagon. If you've seen the movie then you'ld know why.

The Shake Weight

Thanks to Ryan in China for this one.

Enjoy, Blogust.

I'm Addicted To This Case

Why? Because it shows how naive Obama is and how he doesn't know any better. Sticking up for his friend, regardless of the facts? Of course he'll do it. It's the right thing to do, right? ummmm... wrong. Not when you're President.

I think when he made his statement about the Cambridge police he thought he would have the support of the average citizen. Over his life he surrounded himself with people who complained "the Man" or "the Establishment" and "how they are bringing us down, Man." He doesn't realize he is now "the Man." He is "the Establishment."

The idea that people, namely the media, would ever support a cop over a civilian, regardless of the situation, never occured to him either. I don't think he is used to seeing this kind of support and I think his eyes are opening to the real America.
I also predict he will step in it again with regards to the military and he will be up to his ears in "shame on you"s. He has learned to have no respect for people who do this type of sacrifice and will not know how to act. It is the liberal form of questioning authority and it will bite him again.

I Hope This Woman Forgets To Vote

A woman in Nothern California shows the true power of our school system.
I stole this video over at Ace of Spades HQ and he titled it, "Rainbows + Stupidity + Liberalism = METAL OXIDE CRISIS"

The More I Read About This Case...

The angrier I get. You can see from this video that the woman 911 caller did not refer to the two men breaking into the house as black or anything like that. Ann Coulter, I don't know how accurate this is, says that the reason the charges were dropped was due to the fact that Gates is friends with the Mayor of Cambridge, who also so happens to be black. (since the president and Gates have made this an "us vs. them" case, her skin color is relevant)

I think the relevance of Obama spending time in a racist church for 20 years is starting to come to light and it only took him 6 months for him to reveal himself.

My Two Cents

With all the talk about this "stupidly" comment Obama made about the Cambridge police, I have this to say, I really hope this bit of news doesn't go away for awhile since it will mean less time for the President to spend on convincing people that stealing our healthcare is a "right", wile spending more time on the fact that Obama is a racist. What the media seems to not understand is that racial profiling did occur on that day, but not by Crowley. Instead it was Gates and Obama who were racial profiling. They saw a white cop and automatically assumed he was a racist and was undergoing racial profiling when dealing with the arrest. That in itself is racial profiling. I would believe the argument that Obama was just sticking up for his friend if he hadn't used the words racial profiling to begin with, but he did. And by saying racial profiling, he condemned himself to the very practice.

Also, I have something to say about universal healthcare and this whole business about us being the only industrialized country without it. That is not an argument. Just because other nations have universal healthcare doesn't make it a good practice. In order to cement my point I am going to use a bible verse to show that this argument has been used for a long, long time.

1 Samuel 8:4-22: All the elders of Israel gathered together and to Samuel
of Ramah. They said to him, "...appoint a king to lead us, such as all
the nations have."....

Samuel told all the words of the Lord to the people who were asking him for
a king. He said, "This is what the king who will reign over you will do: ....He
will take a tenth of your flocks, and you yorselves will become his
slaves. When that day comes, you will cry out for relief from the king you
have chosen, and the Lord will not answer you in that day."

But the people refused to listen to Samuel. "No!" they said: We want a king
over us. Then we will be like all the other nations, with
a king to lead us and to go out before us and fight our battles."

When the people reject Obamacare, which I think they will, (or I hope they will) then the healthcare issue will inevitably rise again some other day. Once again the Dems will use tactics to paint our healthcare not as imperfect, but as broken and promise it will be fixed and free of cost. I fear that one day the people will listen to these promises and on that day the government will truly have power over our lives. They will ration coverage, abort the unwanted and restrict care for the elderly. I fear it will be a form of population control and I also fear healthcare will be a form of leverage. When we don't have control over our health, a new form of slavery will take place.

The Last California Auto Factory Dies

I always saw NUMMI motors in Fremont over the past 20+ years and I always said "This place can't last in CA." And I was right.

This place is HUGE. Employs 4700 people. Guess these people can now build windmills or something.

Gee... Who would have guessed that Toyota would back out of its only UAW plant...

It's Nice...

...that they were able to do this. Methinks were it the Koran, it may have provoked a bit more than outrage.

Cambridge Cops Who Act "Stupidly"

Our own President called cops stupid on national television last night. You read the report and make your own decision.

UK Drunkard Denied Liver Transplant

...dies at age 22.
Does the NHS have a point? Would he have destroyed a new liver? I'm sure they do have a point, but so what. I think I would rather have the all mighty dollar and an able and willing doctor determining my fate rather than some BS bureaucracy, but that's just me.
I often hear that health care is a right of every American and I couldn't agree more. It is a right we all enjoy and the government shouldn't take it away from us. Why people can't see that undeniable fact is beyond me. Government does not grant rights, they take them.
