There was some good stuff in there but I had a problem with a few parts. Some of the statements are applicable to United States Government as a whole, regardless of party. The politicians are generally a lot like corporate officers in that many eventually find they no longer have to actually perform to "keep what they got". They can maneuver around safely within the greater entity, remaining afloat without concern like a half-drunk tourist. Both parties have hoards of worthless wannabe politicos doing everything possible to look busy and ensuring the opportunity to keep looking busy later. Lefties do this perhaps by creating socialist twigs of bureaucracy while righties do it perhaps by deregulation leaving opportunities for swindlers and swindling. I would argue that the middle class is frustrated with government as a whole. Too much "he said, she said" and "look what I did" and not enough actual product.
Which can be a problem unto itself like the rush to see health care reform done A.S.A.P. leaving most confused and upset or both. (A curse on the microwave oven for teaching us instant gratification.)
Anyway, I think the middle class is frustrated because they (we) are either getting taxed or bamboozled by someone who is just a little more greedy in one way or another.
Right there with you Arvin. I think the US is in the throws of a very good movement, where people are throwing off party affiliation and just using a healthy mix of common sense and skepticism.

Unbelievably well put. Thanks for linking that, Baron.
