Ahmadinejad spoke at Columbia University and didn't get the warm welcome one would expect. In fact, the president of the university tore Ahmadinejad's ass apart during his inroduction. You have to hear it. I would post it, but I can't find a link. Try and hunt it down, your opinion about the academic world might change for the better. Though I disagree with allowing Ahmadinejad to speak, especially since the University doesn't even allow the ROTC to speak, it was fun watching him squirm during some surpisingly tough questions.
During Q/A, Ahmadinejad went onto say that Iran doesn't have any homosexuals.
Maybe Iran is paradise. Ahhh, I am just kidding.
UPDATE: I found it. Here is the awesome speech given by President Bollinger

I couldn't make it past the presidents opening bullshit remarks regarding civility and open expression of ideas given his lib-ass college does not allow ROTC.
keep watching. you will like the rest. Although you wont like the cheers Ahmadinejad gets when he starts speaking.
So I watched some coverage on the news last night. A lot of the coverage was whether or not this guy should have been allowed to speak at all.
I think yes, absolutely. If there's one truth I've learned, its this:
You can judge a person by the fruit they produce.
In other words, a person's true nature will come out over time by what they do and what they say. The easiest way to get this guy to look like an idiot is to let him speak. Silencing him won't give him the opportunity to look like a jerk.
In contrast, I do think its awful that ROTC is not allowed on campus and that The Minutemen got shouted down on Columbia's campus.
Newt Gingrich had a good point about not letting him speak though. He stated that the Iranian networks now had video that would be edited to make it seem like he made fools out of the US.
