Lame.
This does not bode well for marble night at the local tavern. Seriously, though, peanut shells? Not exactly banana peels we're talking about here.
Friday Vid.
I can't believe that either a) I have never seen this commercial, or b) I have seen this commercial, but was too drunk to remember it. Either way, this commercial is AWESOME.

Interesting.
I smoked cigarettes for many years, and I'd be a liar if I said I never flicked a butt out the window. The fact is, though, that it is littering and a fine is certainly fair in such a case. I don't see a problem with having the person attend a review, as in this case, if they do not accept the fine. The lady here just appears to be kind of a whiny crybaby who thinks she may be able to get some sort of litigated compensation if she cries foul enough. The really interesting thing here, though, is that apparently the UK has "environmental crime officers." Like Captain Planet? That's kind of wild. I wonder what kind of training is required, because even if I do believe that people are straight up whacko as far as the environment is concerned, I believe that I want that job.
Fascinating.
This one takes the award for all-time morbidly interesting site. The good news is, I appear to be in pretty good shape if the city is ground zero. Unless, of course, you believe in all the hype about man-made nuclear fallout.

They Should Have Gone With This.
I would've watched the Oscars is Jackman hosted as Wolverine.
Attack of the Show is a pretty good diversion, BTW.

Hmm.
This sort of thing isn't exactly new, but this is pretty okay.

Some Support for Nuclear Power
My dad works at San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station or The Dolly Parton Memorial as we used to call it when I was young.
He recently sent me this article which is interesting as it compares wind and nuclear power. The comments that follow the piece are also recommended. Later he sent me another article that is a little lighter but equally as interesting.

Seriously?
Is anyone else starting to think that maybe their Muslim "advisors" are just fucking with the UK at this point?
And this.
And this.
Sweet, My New Favorite Show.
Is this real? Cause if this is real, it's got to be the greatest idea ever.

I'm Outta Here!
Today is my last day at Title Court Services and what I have to say about that is
"So long, Portland! I'll miss you but it's time to get back to sunny California."
San Luis Obispo, to be exact.
With that I leave you with The Porpoise Song. It was performed by The Monkees in their movie "Head", but copyright issues wont let it be shown on youtube and so here is a version done by The Pillbugs.
It's just as good. Well... almost.
Mickey Dolenz, in the movie Head, is shown during the video.
I picked this song because I am changing Porpoise to Portland.
And Portland is laughing, goodbye, goodbyyyyye
Goodbye, goodbye, goodbyyyye
:)

I Just Don't Understand.
Maybe there is something wrong with me. Maybe my perceptions are off or unrefined, but I need someone to explain to me how a Crucifix in a Catholic University (or anywhere, really)is offensive. I need someone to explain to me how a Crucifix "pushes" religion on anyone. I don't get all kinds of Jewish envy or anger when I see a Star of David. I don't feel the need to start giving up all my rights and money when I see one of those star-spangled Obama Os.

This is a Death Van. Criminals undergo a lethal injection, organs are harvested and all this is done while on the go.

Autism/MMR Vaccine Link Fabricated
Read it here
"Confidential medical documents and interviews with witnesses have established that Andrew Wakefield manipulated patients’ data, which triggered fears that the MMR triple vaccine to protect against measles, mumps and rubella was linked to the condition. "
Now why somebody do something like that?

The Stoning of Soraya M
This trailer is pretty heavy and so don't watch if you are not in the mood.
Give Up And Die Already!
Enjoy this opinion piece on the healthcare reform that Daschle slipped into the "stimulus package." Thanks for the link, CJ. In related news, I will be sleeping with a nightlite for the duration of the Obama White House-oops, I mean Executive Mansion.
1968
I watched An American Carol last night. I would say don't bother, but I thought this clip was pretty funny.
Maybe Moving Back To California Isn't Such A Good Idea
Judges back a one-third reduction in state prison population
Why? because the inmates aren't getting adequate healthcare. "Back on the streets with you, boys. Where I'm sure most of you won't be getting any healthcare. Make sure you rob a mini-mart to make ends meet."

Good Stuff.
Here's a couple of great opinion pieces CJ just sent me.
#1
I was looking at that salary cap bull the other day and thinking very much the same thing, but now I'm not so sure. Corporate CEOs are unlikely to police themselves no matter what the financial situation. In fact, they are more likely to make a cash grab in a time like this. This guy makes the case that good CEOs will turn down opportunities because of this action, but I doubt that very much. Even without bonuses most company CEOs are wildly overcompensated. It's just the same as how you will never convince me that inner city kids will give up sports if they can only make a maximum of $1,000,000 or 2,000,000 dollars a year. I hate the idea of this action on principle, but to say things have gotten out of hand is an understatement. Nobody is "earning" that kind of money.
#2
That one is gold.

How Fiery.
Wow, Obama gave a heartfelt, fiery speech...to his own party. That's the Obama Americans fell in love with. And those ringing endorsements of Nancy Pelosi are really going to help him cross party lines. I will be moving to a cave soon, so if you stop seeing contributions from me here, it means the cave does not have wi-fi.

Stop The Employee Free Choice Act
I've personally seen the destruction and manipulation caused by unions on the workers they "represent" and the businesses who are forced to hire those workers. I am proud to say that my own personal efforts helped bust organized labor at a business my family owned.
Stop the EFCA.
Watch as union organizers can't defeat simple logic:

Hooray For Hollywood!
The Mayans were wrong. We'll never make it to 2012.
R.I.P. Lux Interior
I saw the Cramps live when I was 16 at the California theater and it was pretty wild. A lot of aging punk rockers in attendance.

This video was filmed when the Cramps played at a the Napa State Mental hospital. Watch as the patients become apart of the act.

40 Inspirational Speeches in 2 Minutes
Interesting enough
Rendition Retention
During Super Bowl Sunday, an announcement was made by our new president that the CIA will retain the right to practice rendition. I'm sure you all know what rendition is. Reese Witherspoon starred in a not so thought provoking movie called "Rendition" a couple years ago.
But just in case you missed it...
"Under executive orders signed on January 22, the CIA appears to have preserved its authority to carry out renditions – by which hundreds of terrorist suspects have been abducted and transferred to prisons in countries with questionable human rights records such as Egypt, Morocco or Jordan."
In other words, terrorists will be sent to prisons that aren't as friendly as Guatanamo Bay. Waterboarding will soon look like Splash Mountain and torture music will seem like it was just a bad rock concert at the Del Mar fair.
For me, I don't begrudge Obama for his decision to continue this controversial program. He has a tough job and the decision is his, but I do hope Bush is taking notes.
Obama announced for all to hear and on every news channel that he will be closing Guantanamo Bay in a year. (the people cheered)
Obama announced on super bowl sunday that rendition will continue. (Why wasn't there a freaking replay on that so-called Kurt Warner fumble?!?!)

Balls In A Vice
Maybe that's why Bill's face is so red in this video even before she verbally jabs him. She's grateful because ever since the Monica Lewinsky scandal, she's owned him. Because of that scandal, she's rich and beholden... And we know what she's holdin!
Christian Bale
If you haven't heard, there's a sound clip going around the net of Christian Bale flipping out on the director of photography during the filming of the new Terminator flick for walking through a scene during filming. It's pretty profane. Here's the club mix:
Screw It
I'm just going to pretend this was the Half Time show.
Dr. Love
Christine Sixteen

Let's Face It...
Kiss would have been a way better act than 'The Boss' during the half time show. Springsteen is a shithead, his songs suck and I hope he ripped off Kiss's song.
I mean Kiss is probably the worst band ever to make it big, what does that say about Springsteen?
(by the way, I love Kiss and I use to own the album this song is on. It's from 'Dynasty' and in fact, I went to a Kiss concert during the Dynasty tour when I was 7 years old. It Ruled!!!)

EU Rejects 'Buy American' Clause
Never considered this myself and I really don't know what it means, but it seems important.
I'll Believe It When I See It
Over at Gateway pundit there is a report that Obama has axed 'Hail To The Chief' and the military marching band and replaced them with a 9" pianist (ha ha) and this song sung in arabic.

More Voting In Iraq
Here is the article
"How can we not vote? All of us here have always complained about being oppressed and not having a leader who represented us. Now is our chance,"
What do you mean, you dumb arab? Democracy can't happen in the Middle East. You needed a strong dictator to keep you apes in line. Hundreds of years of sectarian strife forced a leader to rule with an iron fist. Couple that with your primative civilization and democracy is out of the question. It was part of the natural evolutionary order in politics to undergo mass murder by your divine leader. Too bad that oil slobbering Bush had to come along and send you all into hell. The man is just so ignorant to the complexities of civilization that I can't believe he became President... Wait a minute. Is there egg on my face?
