Rendition Retention

During Super Bowl Sunday, an announcement was made by our new president that the CIA will retain the right to practice rendition. I'm sure you all know what rendition is. Reese Witherspoon starred in a not so thought provoking movie called "Rendition" a couple years ago.
But just in case you missed it...

"Under executive orders signed on January 22, the CIA appears to have preserved its authority to carry out renditions – by which hundreds of terrorist suspects have been abducted and transferred to prisons in countries with questionable human rights records such as Egypt, Morocco or Jordan."

In other words, terrorists will be sent to prisons that aren't as friendly as Guatanamo Bay. Waterboarding will soon look like Splash Mountain and torture music will seem like it was just a bad rock concert at the Del Mar fair.

For me, I don't begrudge Obama for his decision to continue this controversial program. He has a tough job and the decision is his, but I do hope Bush is taking notes.
Obama announced for all to hear and on every news channel that he will be closing Guantanamo Bay in a year. (the people cheered)
Obama announced on super bowl sunday that rendition will continue. (Why wasn't there a freaking replay on that so-called Kurt Warner fumble?!?!)
