Michael Tottens latest post is pretty interesting.
I mean it's hard getting into the prediction game, but his guest points out scenarios that are eye opening. Why would Iran want the bomb? Well, from I gather, it's not to threaten U.S. and Israel directly. Not like they sit around with their finger on the button, but instead to gain enough leverage in the area that people will listen to their demands and not ours. In other words not so much to start a war, but enough to earn respect. Just read and you will see what I mean.
My favorite quote is this one where his guest hints that Iran isn't opposed to fighting per se
"Obviously, though, they have an idealogical interest here, and they're willing to fight Israel to the last Lebanese Shiite, but it's an open question how much they'd be willing to sacrifice themselves directly."
