1 Out Of 110 Diagnosed With Autism?

Just heard Austismspeaks give that number on the T.V. Really? Am I being cruel for calling major bullshit on that? The commercial even says that it's a 600% increase. It's as if they also don't believe in that number.

Scary how irresponsible the medical community is. The government should take it over. Seriously, though, somebody's getting some cash here.

I can believe it, for the same reason more people are being born every day that are allergic to peanuts, and more people are coming up with Alzheimer's.

People are living longer than they should, and surviving when they ought not to be. This sounds harsh, but think on it: a couple hundred years ago, if you were allergic to peanuts, and you ate one, what happened? You died. No passing go, no $200. People didn't live out of their 40's and 50's (the rare ones who did were the ones who didn't have the alzheimer's, see?)

Although I do agree the medical community DOES stretch the truth a bit, particularily where cancers are concerned.
