I'm Proud To Say I Haven't Seen Any Movies By Ashley Judd
Because buying tickets for her movies would help support the mass rape of my eyes and ears.
oh to be rich and full of guilt Then I too could take personal responsibility for the lives of people in Congo. My self importance would be through the roof and I would show a new swagger in my step. A swagger I'm sure you'll all notice.
I can hear it now:
"Hey Blogust, you look good. What have you been doing with yourself these days?"
"oh nothing. Just slaughtering and raping thousands of people with a mere swipe of my credit card. Yeah, that's right. I have that kind of power. Now out of my way, slave, so that I can go on-line and brood about it. Oh and by the way, the laptop I will be using to write my post will result in the rape of a grandma, a grandpa and their dog. Boo-Yaw!"
In her words:
"And that is how I, on my way to Democratic Republic of Congo to educate myself first hand about conflict minerals and advocate for a clean supply chain, am at the same time utterly complicit. My electronics, received as gifts or purchased, profit armed militias and support slavery. I am financing mass rape as I enjoy these ridiculously Global North ultra-efficiencies and conveniences, for large scale rape is the preferred predation mining interests use to humiliate and terrify local populations, in order to control resource areas. The UN notes that virtually every mine in DRC is militarized. This means little to no tin, tantalum, and tungsten is mined free of brutal exploitation, extortion, violence, rape, rape, rape."

Can We Get A Number On That, Mr. President?
Bush came out and said most of the TARP has been repaid, but what is the actual amount? Is it 51% or is it 99%? I wanna know because though I am Bush fan, his spending was terrible and if I can find another reason to support this guy... well I'll take it. :)

...or doesn't this the onion post sound more like a frustrated onion writer venting his own frustrations more than a satirical post about Obama? Especially the 'Inside Obama Rambling E-mail' bit.

The Walking Dead
It only took 4 episodes until bloggers started calling The Walking Dead a liberal hitpiece.
One blogger said this
"whites = evil rednecks"
"blacks & Mexicans = good"
"empowered WOMYN and vatos caring for the elderly"
I haven't seen episode 4 yet, but this doesn't sound good.

Sharing Is Caring.
Okay, so for a couple of years now my favorite guilty pleasure on the internet has been the "Levi Johnston" posts over at Something Awful. Every time something happens in the media with Levi or Bristol, and now Willow I get excited just knowing a new post won't be far behind. I can no longer keep this awesomeness to myself. Here is the link to the latest one, but I strongly suggest you go throught the archives. Fair warning, though, they are explicit. Example:
"...I will gorilla glue your c--- shut and p--- out your eyes..."
Glorious. Enjoy.

This One's For Blogust!
German Klingon rapper. I got about a minute in, but something tells me Blogust is going to buy the album.
Holy What Now?
This appears to be an actual article comparing a middle school football trick play to child abuse. Don't worry buddy, I'm sure some parent is already suing for emotional trauma and demanding that trick plays be removed from youth sports. See, this is why we can't have nice things.

Maybe A Time When A Dogs Life Is More Valuable Than Humans
Not that this person is going to get the death penalty or anything, but I bet they feel like dying right about now.
The Walking Dead
Installed utorrent and downloaded episodes 2 and 3 of The Walking Dead over at thepiratesbay.org. I only download avi files as well as read the comments to see what people say about the video. Seems safe, but if it's not, this show is well worth the risk.
This Made Me Feel Better.
Alec Baldwin and I may not see eye to eye on world affairs, but I still think he's awesoe. Here he is presenting the Mark Twain Award for Humor to Tina Fey...as Mark Twain.
Oh, Here We go.
What is wrong with this fucking state? This is how Brown and Boxer get elected and why the only Republican candidates who ever run are soft on everything.

Friday Video On Sunday
Man, Danzig's new single sucks (and when I say it sucks I mean this is best he's done in years and it still falls short which makes it double sucky, but I guess it would be alright if it were the last song on th b-side. Sadly it's not) and man this video is cheesy.
But I love Danzig and so I forgive him for getting old and lame. Not that his past videos were any better. They were always silly, but at least the music was awesome.

School Turns Kid From Geek To Cool
If a kid in my school rode his bike with a flag on the back I would have thought he was the biggest spaz on campus. I mean seriously, Look at this dork.
.
But since the school has told him no, well he is the new punk rock.

Something To Pick Your Teeth With
It's another "Obama doesn't wear a flag pin, Obama gives speeches in Germany, Obama bows to despots, Obama celebrates Indonesian Heroes day in Indonesia but is AWOL for veterans day" type of article, but I enjoyed it.
Tuesday, November 09, 2010
Oh, Wow.
So, the kid realizes it might not be a great idea to attend school in drag, but the mom makes him do it anyway, then acts apalled at the reactions. Sounds like her kid is pretty bright. And it sounds like she'd proabably give me shit for calling Obama a retard. Hopefully, she can sue those Christian mothers.

The Walking Dead
No, I don't have a link for episode 2 yet. Just wanted to pass along the info that AMC has already picked up a second season of 13 episodes. So, yay. I'm not going to lie, though, I was not nearly as pleased with last night's episode as I was with the first. There was enough awesome to make it good, but I seriously hope a couple of the characters get fleshed out a bit or eaten soon. There was a little too much cliche and suspect motivation to go around.

And...Right Back to Politics
Here's my contribution.

Down with Politics!
Hurray for fun stuff! 25 worst superhero costumes. Pretty solid list, but I don't have that much of a problem with Havoc. I mean, Havoc was pretty cool, and Havoc is also the name of that "look what your daughters are doing behind your back" movie where the Princess Diaries chick shows her boobs, which is pretty cool and not all akward for parents of young girls. I mean 'Havoc' is a good word is all. Even better than mayhem, if you ask me.
I Just Don't Know
Hot chicks? Dragons? Robots? A Samurai with a gatling gun? I guess this looks alright if you're into that sort of thing. Maximum Ito says, "Needs more tentacle rape!"

Trying To Resist The Urge...
...to dump about about half my friends on facebook after yesterdays results. Not because I don't like em anymore, but I can't keep reading their posts. Maybe I will just hide em instead.
Hopeless?
Just a little free thinking...
Considering every position in the CA government is blue, I'm wondering if it its really worth staying here? Within the next 10 years or so I see extreme taxation, government intrusion, and a much higher cost of living in CA.
Before anything changes positively here the Dems will have to completely mess this state up, and I'm not sure I wanna stay for all the fun.
Or the Dems will mess everything up and the loons that agree with them won't think there's a problem, and it will just continue.
On the other hand, there's no money for the mess of government funded plans that the Dems always want. They will choose industries, they will tax everything, they will continue to pursue their (unreachable) utopian view at a very high cost, but there will be no money to fund it.
Just having a hard time trying to view the future here.

A Little Something...
...to take your mind off of Boxer and Brown. I give you Commando: The Musical!
The Good and the Bad
First the good: The country sent a strong message to the Obama Administration that this flouting of the desires of the people will not stand. Some say the GOP taking back the House will lead to gridlock. Well, gridlock is better than the road we were on. Maybe in a couple of years we can get things flowing the right way. Or at least in the right general direction.
Now the bad: While the rest of the country pushed back on the Hope and Change administration, California continued to send a clear message of her own. That message? "We have no clear concept of the value of the dollar!" or "Don't think it can get any worse? Guess again. Jerry Brown, ladies and gentlemen!"
I'm amazed Prop 19 didn't pass here. Everyone is obviously stoned out of their gords. That's not to say I'm even against the legalization of marijuana, I just think it might be a good idea to have an actual plan to deal with it if we do. But it was close, and it won't be long before they make this happen. Hell, this is California, they might even sue to get their way. After all, nothing you disagree with is constitutional anymore (state motto). This morning on the local Fox station they brought in two people to talk about either side of the Prop 19 discussion. One was for it and the other was for it. Seriously, the guy who was against it wants legalization, he just doesn't want people who need it paying taxes. It's an extremely valid point, but couldn't the local news find one single person who was flat out against it? I guess they didn't want to. What else is new?
Oh, and let's not forget the great: So long, Nancy Pelosi, you batshit crazy super bitch. Back to the grave with you!!!

The Walking Dead?
In a word, amazing. I can't even begin to say how happy I was with this first episode. They stayed close to the source material to start, but added some very real pathos at points that I felt weren't quite there in the comic. The actor who played Rick Grimes nailed it in my opinion.
My concern, however, is with Rick's wife Lori and Rick's partner Shane. Their presence in the first episode felt forced and I was less pleased with their portrayal's. The guy they picked to play Shane just does not work at all so far, and I worry that the love triangle there might last longer than I care to give a shit about it. They say the show goes in some pretty different directions than the comic, and the most likely changes will probably be in regard to which characters get killed off, because TV audiences (and Blogust) grow too attached to characters and storylines.
Still, so far so good.
