Kerry Sticks His Foot In It, Again

John Kerry made a comment yesterday that got quite a few people's panties in a bunch. Including lefty Bloggers. Check out the video here. Kerry is now claiming that he wasn't talking about our troops, but about Pres. Bush. To be quite honest when I read the quote, I thought he was talking about Bush. When I heard the quote, well it sounded a little different. Overall, I still think he was talking about the President, but no matter. I am still happy about the shit storm. This wouldn't have been the first time he said something like this and now I will just sit back and enjoy watching him squirm.

Update:Bush Speaks Out Against Kerry's Comments I think Bush knows that Kerry was talking about him, but since Kerry was ripping on Bush to begin with, then of course Bush is going to extend the same courtesy. Priceless.

Here's some epic "pot calling the kettle black" stuff for you:

Kerry said the controversy was "swift boat stuff all over again," referring to the 2004 campaign issue about his service in Vietnam. "They shouldn't be allowed to do that," the Massachusetts lawmaker said.

He added, "I'm telling you, I'm not going to let these guys lie and smear, and they put their whole machine out to do it, and they ought to apologize."

Kerry's office said two House campaign appearances by the senator also have been canceled -- by mutual decision -- so as not to "allow the Republican hate machine to use Democratic candidates as their proxies in their distorted spin war in which once again they're willing to exploit brave American troops."

Wait, this is the best ever:

"The White House's attempt to distort my true statement is a remarkable testament to their abject failure in making America safe," the senator said. "It's a stunning statement about their willingness to reduce anything in America to raw politics."

Doesn't that just make your head spin?

Check out these beauties, where Kerry tries to defend himself by slamiing first Rush Limbaugh, who last time I checked held no political office:

"I'm not going to be lectured by a stuffed-suit White House mouthpiece standing behind a podium, or doughy Rush Limbaugh, who no doubt today will take a break from belittling Michael J. Fox's Parkinson's disease to start lying about me just as they have lied about Iraq."

And then he compares our foreign policy to hurricane Katrina? Seriously:

Bush and Cheney "have given us a Katrina foreign policy that has betrayed our ideals, killed and maimed our soldiers, and widened the terrorist threat instead of defeating it," the senator said.

This guy really needs to start letting people write his speeches for him rather than say the first thing that comes to his mind whenever he gets behind a podium. Too bad you know the liberals are eating it up with a spoon. Gee, I never really thought about it, but he's right. Our foreign policy is exactly like Katrina!

I can't believe the size of this dudes ego. I guess only he is allowed to criticize. He should have just kept his mouth shut after he made his comments, but now he is making it worse by keeping it in the news longer.

Newsflash: Kerry apologizes.

As a combat veteran, I want to make it clear to anyone in uniform and to their loved ones: my poorly stated joke at a rally was not about, and never intended to refer to any troop.
I sincerely regret that my words were misinterpreted to wrongly imply anything negative about those in uniform, and I personally apologize to any service member, family member, or American who was offended.
It is clear the Republican Party would rather talk about anything but their failed security policy. I don’t want my verbal slip to be a diversion from the real issues. I will continue to fight for a change of course to provide real security for our country, and a winning strategy for our troops.

Even his apology isn't really an apology, but another dig at the Republicans. This ass needs to shut up or he's going to find himself the next big Dem scapegoat.

My co-worker feels that Kerry should remind people he was a veteran. Does anyone think Kerry hasn't already been doing that?
