Okay, it's been discussed her before, but I seriously need to vent. I try very hard to stay away from the political arena on Facebook, because I know that I have an eclectic group of friends who fall into every possible category of political affiliation or non-affiliation. It amazes me how many people do not show the same courtesy. I'm sure that they believe that since we are friends, we most likely agree in our world views. In fact, I imagine some of them would cut ties with me completely if they knew the truth. And yes, it is entirely my left wing friends who do this. They are calling me stupid to my face. Rude motherfuckers.
And while we're on the subject of Facebook, I'm ready to strangle the next person who implores me to copy and paste a Facebook status for blah, blah whatever or to change my profile pick because it's gay 'cat in a sweater month' or some other such bullshit. Fucking Facebook is stupid. I hate most people enough already without it.

MC, your "Tired Ole Rant" is something I'm hearing more and more of. Slowly I'm finding like minded individuals who also agree with the rudeness of friends when it comes to FB posts and politics.
Its just amazes many of us that people we enjoy hanging out with would be so rude on a public forum like FB. I kind of liken it to being bold when behind the wheel, flipping people off, calling them names, etc. But if the driver was face to face with someone, then the conversation would most likely be much more civil.
What to do about this situation? I dunno just yet. Its very hard to restrain my resentment. Thank goodness for this blog, it helps me vent.
I have hidden many friends and in reality I don't miss their rants. I just get to interact with them in person like I've done in the past, where politics rarely come up.
Being conservative and *gasp* a Christian in the Bay Area really does test my temper. Not necessarily because I disagree with most of the sentiment around here, believe me, it does test my patience, but because of the lack of simple politeness that gets thrown out the window when it comes to any views that are not part of the Bay Area norm. Its really strange to me.
