Sure, we should question experts sometimes. No one is saying not to, but what McCarthy does isn't just question. She flips her lid and uses a personal tragedy in order to make her argument. What that is designed to do is make the Doctor look like the bad guy and she the expert. That appeals to emotion not to facts. Never a good idea.
Trust me, I am an emotional woman myself and have used my fair share of tragedy to make an argument
