When Jesus was asked which of the 10 commandments were most important, he stated:

- Love your God
- Love your Neighbor

These 10 Yahoo commandments could be summed up as:

- Love the Earth as your God
- Be a smelly hippy

Its funny. I have an answer for a few of those suggestions as to how they are harmful to the earth and humans.

Some suggestions are just kind of obvious, but also valid, like keeping your car tuned up or turning down the thermostat. But then again, these are things that save MONEY in the long run, which is really why people do them. Not because of some earth guilt.

Here are a few:

- They suggest buying NEW cars. Sorry kids, my 41 Ford is the most green thing on the planet. Talk about reduce, reuse, recycle.

- They suggest buying hybrids. I've seen valid arguments that hybrids cost more energy to make than a Hummer given the two drive-train factories involved. They make a point to bring up nuclear waste, but never mind the lead/acid batteries we'll all be dealing with someday soon.

- There is a valid argument that recycling is a zero or negative sum game given the amount of energy it takes to actually run the recycling factories.

- The more we go organic, the less we can feed the earth since organic crops are lost to pests at the rate of up to 50%. And here you have the environmentalists goal: dead humans. Modern farming saves human lives. Period.

- Flourescent lights. Never mind that toxic substance inside the light bulb.

Or maybe I'm just a 'flat earther', eh? A heretic of his time.
