Not to nitpick cause I hate most of the naked tree hugging brigade, but he was in Saddam's army before he went to fight the Russians in Afghanistan. That was like 25 years ago when Russia's foreign policy hopes hung on a horse testosterone fueled boxer to knock out America and kill Apollo.
I know what you are saying, but I still have a few questions. Did he just decide to quit the Iraqi military? Did he go AWOL, or was he honorably discharged? Maybe he was out of the Iraqi military for a little while and was like "man I am bored. I think I will go fight the Russians two countries over."
I guess my main question is this. If canada was at war with Russia and we weren't involved, would it be noteworthy if one of our Majors fought for the Canadians against the Russians?
