When Will People Learn?

Okay, so the cops killed a teenager who was brandishing an iron. As the "victim's" aunt points out, he wasn't carrying a universally recognized weapon, such as a knife or a crowbar, so the family has taken the necessary precaution of hiring a lawyer. Most likely they chose one of the lawyers skulking around their front porch as soon as this story broke. I hate to sound so callous, but 15 is plenty old enough to know that you have no business coming at a police officer with an iron. Also, I'm tired of hearing the same old, "Why couldn't they have shot him in the leg?" garbage. Don't make the police have to decide where they're going to shoot you in the first place!

The same people complain that tasers should be outlawed.

What would you rather be shot with?

That is so tragic. The loss of life is always sad and I feel sorry for that poor kids family. The cops should have known better than to shoot the virtually unarmed teenager and they should have just handled the situation with more professionalism. Why couldn't they have calmed the confused child down and take him someplace where he couldn't hurt himself or others? They were the ones who were supposed to be the adults in this situation and the teenage child was just that, a child. Now it is hard to determine who the real children were. So sad, so very sad. It is clear that the real crime here is allowing trigger happy cops roam the streets intimidating innocent civilians. You know in England, cops carry billy clubs and are able to protect the population without any hassle. Sometimes an arrest is performed over tea. We should be more like them.

Mmmmm... Man that felt good. Now I have a ray of sunshine shooting from my butt.
