I'm not a fan of Bonds, but my opinion of him as a Giant has nothing to do with steriods. Baseball is a team sport, and right now its the all-Barry-Bonds show yet again. I'm sick of it.
As I've said before, I don't care if people in sports take steroids. Bonds is just the focus of the steroids controversy, but many players in the game take them.
Put it this way, if the pitchers are also on steriods (which they are) then Bonds on steroids is negated.
Pitchers may well be on steroids as well, but I have yet to see a very obvious, drastic rise in a pitcher's performance. If Mark Prior comes back next year and wins 30 games for the Cubs, I'll concede your point.
Baron, you are a very smart and logical thinker. To say pitchers taking steroids negates hitters is beyond absurd because that is implying that steroids affect thowing the ball the same way it affects swinging the bat. There is no equation that depicts 1 lb of steroids equals 10 home runs AND 10 extra miles on the fast ball. A small amount of steroids may increase bat speed tremendously while a larger amount may cause neglible amounts of change to pitch speed. I like Barry. I don't care about steroids. But the dude went from 35 home runs to 73. NOTHING was negated.
