There's a popular documentary out about kids going through rumspringa. I watched it last year. Those crazy Amish.
Its a total crock. The Amish don't educate past an 8th grade level. Then when kids turn 17, they get booted out into the world for 2 or 3 years. The kids party, but for the most part end up working at McDonalds or dealing drugs because they have no education or skills. 90% of Amish kids who leave on rumspringa return back to the Amish.
Wouldn't most people? Hell, the Amish set their own kids up for failure, watch them fail, and then welcome them with "open" arms. Truth is, the kids never had a chance and came running home.
