I find that Pink Floyd is one of those bands that most can tolerate. May not be everyones favorite, but the radio isn't cursed at when their music comes on. I kinda think that Pink Floyd is sort of a guys band (not meant in a faggy way) and that all dudes like them in some form or another.
Well after you watch this video I guarantee it will go from like to absolutely adore.

Tired Ole Rant.
Okay, it's been discussed her before, but I seriously need to vent. I try very hard to stay away from the political arena on Facebook, because I know that I have an eclectic group of friends who fall into every possible category of political affiliation or non-affiliation. It amazes me how many people do not show the same courtesy. I'm sure that they believe that since we are friends, we most likely agree in our world views. In fact, I imagine some of them would cut ties with me completely if they knew the truth. And yes, it is entirely my left wing friends who do this. They are calling me stupid to my face. Rude motherfuckers.
And while we're on the subject of Facebook, I'm ready to strangle the next person who implores me to copy and paste a Facebook status for blah, blah whatever or to change my profile pick because it's gay 'cat in a sweater month' or some other such bullshit. Fucking Facebook is stupid. I hate most people enough already without it.

This Girl Is Hard Up For Another Role
Jennifer Grey says it feels "Damn Good" to beat Bristol Palin.
Reall, Jennifer, really? Does it really feel damn good to beat a chick 1/2 your age who hasn't done a damn thing except being the daughter of the one person The Left is most terrified of, or are you looking to pander to liberal hollywood?
To be fair, the host couched the question like this? "Obama and Biden defeated Palin. How do you feel about defeating a Palin?"
Just remember, all, McCain was the man running for president not Palin.
And he would have gotten killed if it weren't for Palin.
The left knows that. They are scared of this woman and so reminding everyone that she was once defeated helps them to sleep at night... but not very well.

Who Won The Soccer Final This Past Summer?
Yeah, that's what I thought.
Had to think about that for second, didn't ya?
Soccer is the suckiest suckity suckfest to ever suck on ESPN. But somehow, one day we're all gonna love it. I promise!

Nerd Alert
In the interest of keeping this blog heavy on the nerdery, I thought I'd pass along that I just finished the Scott Pilgrim comics and actually found them to be surprisingly awesome. Yeah, they're definitely hipstery and whatnot, but by the end I was kind of blown away by how much I enjoyed the characters and was bummed to see them go. The content winds up being rather insightful vis a vis relationships and self awareness and all as well. Anyway, you can get them pretty cheap on Amazon, so check 'em out if you're into that sort of crap. Now I'll go ahead and watch the movie and let Michael Cera ruin the whole experience for me.

I'm Proud To Say I Haven't Seen Any Movies By Ashley Judd
Because buying tickets for her movies would help support the mass rape of my eyes and ears.
oh to be rich and full of guilt Then I too could take personal responsibility for the lives of people in Congo. My self importance would be through the roof and I would show a new swagger in my step. A swagger I'm sure you'll all notice.
I can hear it now:
"Hey Blogust, you look good. What have you been doing with yourself these days?"
"oh nothing. Just slaughtering and raping thousands of people with a mere swipe of my credit card. Yeah, that's right. I have that kind of power. Now out of my way, slave, so that I can go on-line and brood about it. Oh and by the way, the laptop I will be using to write my post will result in the rape of a grandma, a grandpa and their dog. Boo-Yaw!"
In her words:
"And that is how I, on my way to Democratic Republic of Congo to educate myself first hand about conflict minerals and advocate for a clean supply chain, am at the same time utterly complicit. My electronics, received as gifts or purchased, profit armed militias and support slavery. I am financing mass rape as I enjoy these ridiculously Global North ultra-efficiencies and conveniences, for large scale rape is the preferred predation mining interests use to humiliate and terrify local populations, in order to control resource areas. The UN notes that virtually every mine in DRC is militarized. This means little to no tin, tantalum, and tungsten is mined free of brutal exploitation, extortion, violence, rape, rape, rape."

Can We Get A Number On That, Mr. President?
Bush came out and said most of the TARP has been repaid, but what is the actual amount? Is it 51% or is it 99%? I wanna know because though I am Bush fan, his spending was terrible and if I can find another reason to support this guy... well I'll take it. :)

The Walking Dead
It only took 4 episodes until bloggers started calling The Walking Dead a liberal hitpiece.
One blogger said this
"whites = evil rednecks"
"blacks & Mexicans = good"
"empowered WOMYN and vatos caring for the elderly"
I haven't seen episode 4 yet, but this doesn't sound good.

Okay, so for a couple of years now my favorite guilty pleasure on the internet has been the "Levi Johnston" posts over at Something Awful. Every time something happens in the media with Levi or Bristol, and now Willow I get excited just knowing a new post won't be far behind. I can no longer keep this awesomeness to myself. Here is the link to the latest one, but I strongly suggest you go throught the archives. Fair warning, though, they are explicit. Example:

Glorious. Enjoy.

This appears to be an actual article comparing a middle school football trick play to child abuse. Don't worry buddy, I'm sure some parent is already suing for emotional trauma and demanding that trick plays be removed from youth sports. See, this is why we can't have nice things.

Friday Video On Sunday
Man, Danzig's new single sucks (and when I say it sucks I mean this is best he's done in years and it still falls short which makes it double sucky, but I guess it would be alright if it were the last song on th b-side. Sadly it's not) and man this video is cheesy.
But I love Danzig and so I forgive him for getting old and lame. Not that his past videos were any better. They were always silly, but at least the music was awesome.

It's another "Obama doesn't wear a flag pin, Obama gives speeches in Germany, Obama bows to despots, Obama celebrates Indonesian Heroes day in Indonesia but is AWOL for veterans day" type of article, but I enjoyed it.

Oh, Wow.
So, the kid realizes it might not be a great idea to attend school in drag, but the mom makes him do it anyway, then acts apalled at the reactions. Sounds like her kid is pretty bright. And it sounds like she'd proabably give me shit for calling Obama a retard. Hopefully, she can sue those Christian mothers.

The Walking Dead
No, I don't have a link for episode 2 yet. Just wanted to pass along the info that AMC has already picked up a second season of 13 episodes. So, yay. I'm not going to lie, though, I was not nearly as pleased with last night's episode as I was with the first. There was enough awesome to make it good, but I seriously hope a couple of the characters get fleshed out a bit or eaten soon. There was a little too much cliche and suspect motivation to go around.

Hurray for fun stuff! 25 worst superhero costumes. Pretty solid list, but I don't have that much of a problem with Havoc. I mean, Havoc was pretty cool, and Havoc is also the name of that "look what your daughters are doing behind your back" movie where the Princess Diaries chick shows her boobs, which is pretty cool and not all akward for parents of young girls. I mean 'Havoc' is a good word is all. Even better than mayhem, if you ask me.

Trying To Resist The Urge...
...to dump about about half my friends on facebook after yesterdays results. Not because I don't like em anymore, but I can't keep reading their posts. Maybe I will just hide em instead.
Hopeless?
Just a little free thinking...
Considering every position in the CA government is blue, I'm wondering if it its really worth staying here? Within the next 10 years or so I see extreme taxation, government intrusion, and a much higher cost of living in CA.
Before anything changes positively here the Dems will have to completely mess this state up, and I'm not sure I wanna stay for all the fun.
Or the Dems will mess everything up and the loons that agree with them won't think there's a problem, and it will just continue.
On the other hand, there's no money for the mess of government funded plans that the Dems always want. They will choose industries, they will tax everything, they will continue to pursue their (unreachable) utopian view at a very high cost, but there will be no money to fund it.
Just having a hard time trying to view the future here.

A Little Something...
...to take your mind off of Boxer and Brown. I give you Commando: The Musical!
The Good and the Bad
First the good: The country sent a strong message to the Obama Administration that this flouting of the desires of the people will not stand. Some say the GOP taking back the House will lead to gridlock. Well, gridlock is better than the road we were on. Maybe in a couple of years we can get things flowing the right way. Or at least in the right general direction.
Now the bad: While the rest of the country pushed back on the Hope and Change administration, California continued to send a clear message of her own. That message? "We have no clear concept of the value of the dollar!" or "Don't think it can get any worse? Guess again. Jerry Brown, ladies and gentlemen!"
I'm amazed Prop 19 didn't pass here. Everyone is obviously stoned out of their gords. That's not to say I'm even against the legalization of marijuana, I just think it might be a good idea to have an actual plan to deal with it if we do. But it was close, and it won't be long before they make this happen. Hell, this is California, they might even sue to get their way. After all, nothing you disagree with is constitutional anymore (state motto). This morning on the local Fox station they brought in two people to talk about either side of the Prop 19 discussion. One was for it and the other was for it. Seriously, the guy who was against it wants legalization, he just doesn't want people who need it paying taxes. It's an extremely valid point, but couldn't the local news find one single person who was flat out against it? I guess they didn't want to. What else is new?
Oh, and let's not forget the great: So long, Nancy Pelosi, you batshit crazy super bitch. Back to the grave with you!!!

The Walking Dead?
In a word, amazing. I can't even begin to say how happy I was with this first episode. They stayed close to the source material to start, but added some very real pathos at points that I felt weren't quite there in the comic. The actor who played Rick Grimes nailed it in my opinion.
My concern, however, is with Rick's wife Lori and Rick's partner Shane. Their presence in the first episode felt forced and I was less pleased with their portrayal's. The guy they picked to play Shane just does not work at all so far, and I worry that the love triangle there might last longer than I care to give a shit about it. They say the show goes in some pretty different directions than the comic, and the most likely changes will probably be in regard to which characters get killed off, because TV audiences (and Blogust) grow too attached to characters and storylines.
Still, so far so good.

Jefferson vs. Adams
When you hear a pundit or politician make the claim that campaigns have become too nasty just know that that in itself is an attack ad.
T-Minus 3 Days
...and counting until the premiere of The Walking Dead. Here are the shows thoroughly disappointing opening credits.
I say thoroughly disappointing because I've already shown you all the amazing opening credits a mere fan put together. However, it doesn't surprise me that they'd go with this. First off, Frank Darabont says the story will veer off from the comics at one point, so to tie the two together would just cause the fanboys to cry about it. More. I mean cry about it more. More importantly, however, no studio exec would ever have the balls to openly advertise that this series is adapted from a comic. Fanboys will watch no matter what, but America in general would probably not take this seriously if they knew the truth. Still, the other opening ruled. I can't wait to see how this series is fucked up. How many episodes before someone has sex with a zombie? How did Global Warming and our dependency on fossil fuels contribute to the zombie apocalypse? Are the zombies some sort of allegory for mindles Christian Fundamentalists? George Bush zombie? There are just so many different ways, and Hollywood just can't help themselves.

On The Other Hand
Though I don't believe gay marriage is marriage and calling gay marriage, marriage doesn't make it marriage. (sorta like this knew law that allows kids to pick their own gender. Just because they are allowed to call themselves the opposite sex doesn't make them the opposite sex)
this on the other hand I am more agreeable with. I was worried that if gays were in the military openly, people wouldn't enlist. Maybe it's no big deal.

If Iran Gets The Bomb
Michael Tottens latest post is pretty interesting.
I mean it's hard getting into the prediction game, but his guest points out scenarios that are eye opening. Why would Iran want the bomb? Well, from I gather, it's not to threaten U.S. and Israel directly. Not like they sit around with their finger on the button, but instead to gain enough leverage in the area that people will listen to their demands and not ours. In other words not so much to start a war, but enough to earn respect. Just read and you will see what I mean.
My favorite quote is this one where his guest hints that Iran isn't opposed to fighting per se
"Obviously, though, they have an idealogical interest here, and they're willing to fight Israel to the last Lebanese Shiite, but it's an open question how much they'd be willing to sacrifice themselves directly."

An Article Enjoyable To The Very Last Word
And when I say enjoyable I mean it will piss you off! It starts off with sympathy for Juan Williams, but then rightly points out how his firing is poetic justice since Juan has been supporting bullshit liberal institutions and ideologies for many years. The very same ideology that ultimately got him fired.
The writer later goes into great detail outlining NPR's so called 2% support coming from the taxpayers while the majority of their support comes from their stations. Those stations, the author points out, are themselves public and they get the majority of their money from the CPB-Corporation for Public Broadcasting. The CPB is a private "non-profit" which is code for being a company that receives taxpayer money but the public support is in a sense laundered from the word public to private.
Give it a read.
now watch and enjoy Charles Krauthammer.
Zing! He is so good in this bit I had to watch it more than once. I mean it's fun watching the others stammer stutter worse than Charles. Stuttering is something he can't help and now they too can't help it, but for a totally different reason.
I CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF THIS STORY!
Now read this.
An article that hints at the firing of Vivian Schiller. I mean it would only be fair.

Everyone's a Bigot.
So, here's an article about that dude getting canned from NPR for saying he was scared muslims on planes. This is the part that confuses me:
The Atlantic's Andrew Sullivan wrote Wednesday morning that Williams' statement about fearing Muslims on planes is an example of bigotry. "What if someone said that they saw a black man walking down the street in classic thug get-up," Sullivan wrote. "Would a white person be a bigot [if] he assumed he was going to mug him?'
So, I'm going to assume that the answer he is expecting here is that yes, that white person is a bigot for assuming a black dude dressed like a thug was going to mug him. If I were in that situation I'd call it erring on the side of caution, but if Andrew Sullivan would like to call me a bigot, so be it. For the record, if I saw a scary lookin' white dude walking down the street, I'd probably assume he posed some kind of threat as well, but I'm well aware that that only makes me a pussy.

This Is Just Great
Not only does the First Lady beat down the American spirit with her negativity about its people and its history, but now Michelle has gone and carved out the earth's heart. Has she no shame?
Seriously, doesn't that picture look like it came from the movie Apocalpyto?

Thanks To Ryan In China
I love having psuedo-libs who read the HuffPo but voted for McCain as friends, otherwise I would have missed this gem.

This Is Painful To Watch
Ok the story goes like this. Jonah Goldberg is conducting an interview on c-span. The girl, who is named Helen, talks first and she goes on expalining why she believes this and that and who she admires and who she doesn't and yadda yadda yadda. Normal mumbo jumbo you would find on c-span, right?
Then comes the dudes turn and he doesn't really talk about politics at all. I mean he sorta does, but not really. Instead he starts talking about the previous speaker, Helen. And believe me, it's not good. We all get to find out how he and Helen were once an item. We also learn that she is an awful evil whore who loves to see people suffer and a whole bunch of other shit that I can't remember right now because I was to busy sticking my fingers in my ears and humming loudly so as to not be embarrassed.
During the entire rant, Jonah Goldberg is doing this pathetic laugh of embarrassment sorta thing because he can't believe what is happening. And it does happen, for like 4 minutes. No shit, I am not kidding.

I Could Use A New Watch
Hey, my Blog-ust brothers and sisters! So, the 25th will mark my 38th year and I know you're all probably grinding those brain gears trying to figure out what to get the blogger who has everything. Well, fear not. I don't want you all to expend another micron of brain power on the question. Here is what I want. You may want to band together and make the purchase or one of you could pick it up, while the rest of you work on the proper watch related accessories. A mansion. A yacht. A Rolls...etc. Thank you in advance, I don't deserve to have such fine people in my life. Cheerio!

Glacier Embracing Suits

Stay tuned for glacier embracing pornos to be released on DVD and Blu-Ray. Fabulous titles such as 'H2O: An Erotic Threesome', 'Hey, Who Invited the Polar Bear?' and my favorite 'Cherry Slurpee' are just the "tip" of the iceberg.
I Can't Believe I Am Writing A Post About The View
I'm sure you have all heard by now that Goldberg and Behar walked off there show after O'Reilly called the 9/11 muslims... wait for it... muslims. It's funny cause I walk off the set of The View every single day by not turning it on my T.V. And if by accident it does come on, I scream, throw my hands up in the air and immediately leave the room. Similar to how these ladies behaved.
Oh and the reason I linked to the hotair post is because they make a good point about how Behar is willing to sit with Truthers, but not willing to sit with people who call muslim terrorists, muslims. Actually I sorta agree with them on one thing. Calling them muslims is inaccurate. I would have preferred O'Reilly to have called them what they really are and that is Islamofascists, but hey, whatever. Also the video of Laura Ingraham pointing out how Behar loves to mock catholics is pretty sweet too so make sure you watch that.

This is Not a Joke
Police want to start ticketing people for not locking their cars. Best line ever?
Police say the proposal isn't designed to punish the forgetful but to anger people into remembering.
Yep, best line ever.
