Questions of the day:

Why are people on the left so utterly convinced about global climate change, while people on the right remain skeptical? Is it really a left/right issue?

Also:
We had Gore's Inconveniant Truth
Yesterday it was Ted Turner's "single greatest challenge that humanity has ever faced,"
And now Sir Branson from Virgin Records?

Proof positive that science can be easily swayed by where the research money is. If you find global warming, you get cash.

So what do we expect to hear from scientists? They have to pay rent too.

Pop science, especially that which procaliams earth's end, is a slippery slope. Too many chances for twisted statistics and hype.

I thought it odd that Branson compared it to a competition launched in 1675 to devise a method of estimating longitude accurately. Back then tons of money was wasted from ships being lost, being late or whatever. Estimating longitude helped end all that.
The only thing similar about these two competitions is that, well, they are both competitions. Also, maybe Branson sees himself as king.
