If this is true then who will be the next VP? I don't know if the President is the one to appoint the next VP or what. If he is, I predict Condi Rice to take the job. Cheney's retirement Does anyone know?

Section 2 of the 25th Amendment provides that "Whenever there is a vacancy in the office of the Vice President, the President shall nominate a Vice President who shall take office upon confirmation by a majority vote of both Houses of Congress."
The requirements are the same as those for President, natural-born citizen, age, etc.
