Once Again, I'm Not A Monster

I think we can all agree that this guy most likely deserves a couple of years in jail for being an abusive ass hole (I'm sure that'll rehabilitate him), but to equate the life of a goldfish with that of a cat or dog seems a bit absurd to me. This seems to be a situation where the court sets precedent based on heart. An ugly can of worms may well be hanging open. Fraternities beware, you are facing hard time. Goldfish are the new jailbait.

One of the signs for a serial killer is animal cruelty...Do you think that is what they were thinking?

That's likely a large part of why they ruled the way they did, coupled with the fact that it was cruel to do to his children. The problem is, in the courts eyes now-or the eyes of an over zealous prosecutor-killing a goldfish in any way is comparable. That's why often times juries are forced to convict people in situations where common sense would dictate otherwise. Our legal system is so muddled with this kind of thing it's sick.
