I'm Reserving Judgment...
...til the movie comes out, but if you say this trailer doesn't give you goosebumps, you are full of it.
Update:
Here's my concern, though. If I remember correctly, the Decepticons and the Autobots were fighting over something like Energon Cubes, I think. And we were in the way, I think. I worry that the motivations may be changed for the movie. I fear that the Decepticons will come to Earth to take away our planet and our resources because we longer deserve them due to Global Warming. The Autobots, who will no doubt be solar powered, will believe we can still learn to be eco-friendly. At least one of the Autobots (My bet is Bumblebee) will at some point take a "What if the Decepticons are right? What if there is no hope for the human race?" stance. He will somehow be saved by a human and learn that humans are basically good, then the doubting Autobot will play a major role in defeating the Decpticons. By the end of the movie, the Autobots will be showing people how to make solar powered SUVs, showing humanity that their dependence on fossil fuels is a wasteful endeavor. Hmm, actually that sounds like a great movie!

Very, Very, Very Clever.
Uber bias magazine, Newsweek, has Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama on its cover this week. The article is called "Is America Ready?" What shit. Talk about about appealing to your guilt gland. In other words, if you don't vote for Hillary or Obama, then you are a racist and sexist.

A Time For Choosing
I was listening to Michael Medved today and he was doing a special on Ronald Reagan. One of the bits that really caught my attention was a speech he wrote and delivered at Goldwater's campaign in 1964. Give it a listen. It is called "A Time For Choosing" and it is about three bullets done from the top. It is funny how relevant this speech is to todays world.
Prepare To Be Changed.
This is just too awesome for words.

Check me out!. I'm Back...
...and I'm political. Just finished a fun interview with Earth's Savior, Al Gore, from last week's issue of Time. What's my favorite part, you ask?
Time asks, or says rather:
There are many people who still doubt the science. Senator James Inhofe, head of the Senate's environmental committee, has condemned global-warming science as "hoax."
Gore's reply:
There's some good news here. Senator Inhofe will soon be replaced by Senator Barbara Boxer, an advocate of solving the crisis, as chairwoman of that committee. As to why there are still skeptics--there are people who believe that the moon landing was staged in a movie lot in Arizona. Another reason is that some of the largest polluters are still putting millions of dollars a year to hire pseudo scientists to confuse people into thinking that this crisis isn't real.
Click here for the whole wonderful thing. I can't figure out why they forgot to ask why nobody has freaked out about global warning since 1984 when it was supposed to kill us all the first time.

Gore Didn't Get His Hurricanes
Poor guy. He had his hopes up with predictions like this:
Be Afraid!
But alas, it ended up like this:
"All of them were wrong"
It always pays to be safe, so I don't blame people for trumpeting fear to a degree. After Katrina, places like Louisiana need to be more prepared.
But don't worry, the "experts" are saying this is just a short reprieve. Gore will get his destruction, or so they say.

Liberals: The Most Racist?
Those who live in this country understand the fascist and racist tendencies of those who are liberal. The only people who are racist in their minds are white people, all the rest are under some kind of control by "the man".
This is the usual liberal crap-speak. One of the key tools of the liberals is to play on people's differences and twist it into something they can use to their advantage.
I had two wonderful conversations this weekend with friends I've made in Albany over the past year. They were just random meetings that turned in to some sort of bitch fest about how PC-fascist the US is becoming. And honestly it WAS NOT me that brought up the subject. I found myself being the voice of moderation. Both conversations made my day since I could have sworn these two friends didn't think like I did. But the more I talk with people in this area, the more I hear the same frustrations.
As an example, I'll list two posts linked on this site. First, these very insightful words by Mr. Kerry:
John Kerry says "I am convinced a volunteer army would be an army of the poor and the black and the brown."
Race is always used as a tool with these people. They love keeping the US divided along racial lines and use that division to create hate and polarization. Of course Mr. Kerry, who's married in to great wealth twice, thinks its a horror that anyone be "poor".
Then we have this post from Mr. Blogust. Count how many people in this photo are Black or Brown. I count none:
Now would it have made more sense if Mr. Kerry said "mostly" Black or Brown? Maybe. But the point is, he did not.

From their own football team!
First the team says:
We're moving to Santa Clara, you whacks!
Then the city says:
Waaaa, now we can't host the olympics!
Hey, when you put too many special interest concerns into a contract the person you are doing business with is gonna tell you to put it where the sun don't shine. Just another example of liberal policies being bad for business and business taking its money elsewhere. There are so many examples of this in recent SF history that its just sad.

Example #386: Simpsons Prove Once Again They Have Jumped The Shark.
We have all known for awhile now that the Simpson Dynasty is dead. Unfortunatly for the Simpsons producers and creators, they just wont admit it. Now they are currently doing what Goerge Lucas did with Star Wars and that is destroying every positve memory we had for the show. Oh Well...screw em. They have decided to go away from funny, to pushing a political agenda. Check out this clip. Simpsons rips the Army.
I watched some of this episode last night, but I didn't last five minutes. This clip helps support an idea many of us already know to be real and that idea goes something like this...It doesn't matter whether John Kerry believes the military is full of idiots. What matters is that a lot of his voters certainly do believe it. Can we say guilt by association?

The Return Of Curly Joe Sheehan
My friday video will probably make you barf. You are warned.
Poll From Afghanistan
With my new found love of polls I think it only appropriate to post an article that ABC news released on the day of the election. The article speaks of the overall feeling the people of Afghanistan have for their current situation and let me say it is encouraging, really encouraging. ABC of course has to start the article off with bad news and end it with even worse news, but even they can't deny how positive the people feel about their country and what the US has done for them. This article underscores what I was saying in the comments box for my post "2 Predictions And A Lesson."
Here are some great poll numbers.
1) 77 percent of Afghans say their country is headed in the right direction — compared with 30 percent in the vastly better-off United States.
2) 91 percent prefer the current Afghan government to the Taliban regime, and 87 percent call the U.S.-led overthrow of the Taliban good for their country
3) 85 percent of Afghans say living conditions there are better now than they were under the Taliban.
4) 75 percent say their security from crime and violence has improved as well.
Leading up to the election, the MSM spent most of their time talking about the growing Taliban presence in the South and how the US has reduced their troop levels in Afghanistan, implying that we are cutting and running from that country, but rarely mentioned how much more of a role NATO is playing. Even France has chipped in with support by sending more man-power over to Afghanistan in order to help out with the effort.

Democrats' victory unnerves Baghdad
Diplomat tells Iraqis U.S. won't ditch them
By Aamer Madhani, Tribune staff reporter. Nadeem Majeed and Sinan Adhem contributed to this report
Published November 9, 2006
BAGHDAD -- Across the capital Wednesday, Iraqis balanced their hopes against fears about how U.S. policy will change on the ground in the wake of the Democrats' overwhelming victory in congressional elections and U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld's sudden resignation.
Rasha Tariq, 23, a college student, said she found herself near tears when she awoke Wednesday morning to the news that the Democrats had won the House and were on the cusp of taking the Senate.

Tariq said she worries the Democrats' victory will mark the beginning of a gradual U.S. pullout from Iraq and the disintegration of what little order is left on the dangerous streets of Baghdad.
"If it was up to the Democrats, we would still be living under Saddam's tyranny," Tariq said in an interview Wednesday in the Sadoun Street shopping district. "I'm afraid that this change is going to affect the American presence in Iraq. I don't want them to leave."
While understanding that U.S. involvement in Iraq will not be altered overnight, both politicians and pedestrians in Baghdad said Wednesday that they were sure the U.S. has reached a turning point in the war.
Early Wednesday, U.S. Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad met with Iraqi politicians and journalists to reassure them that the U.S. remains committed to helping Iraq succeed. He told the group, which gathered inside the Green Zone, that American policy in Iraq would not radically change as a result of the Democrats' victory.
Several hours later, President Bush announced that he had accepted the resignation of the chief architect of what has become an unpopular war stateside.
Ali Dabbagh, the Iraqi government spokesman who attended the meeting with Khalilzad, said that he was "shocked" to hear of Rumsfeld's resignation. But ultimately, Dabbagh said, the Iraqi government sees the issue as an American matter.
"Whether it is Republicans or Democrats, Secretary Rumsfeld or someone else, we have received the assurances that the U.S. government will continue to work with Iraq for our countries' common goals," Dabbagh said.
Sadiq al-Musawi, a political analyst with the independent Iraqi Media Center, said Iraqis have been aware of the growing discontent among Americans over the daily bloodshed in Iraq.
He said the Democrats could distract the Bush administration from completing its task in Iraq by hampering it with investigations into the handling of the war, or it could force the administration to make tough but necessary alterations in its Iraq policy, al-Musawi said.
He is hopeful that the Democrats will take the latter route and force the Bush administration into bilateral talks with Syria and Iran about security. That is something the administration has been reluctant to do, even though some say it is crucial in cutting off the insurgency's financing and weapons supply.
Mixed opinions of election
Khalilzad acknowledged Wednesday that the daily bloodshed in Iraq has shaken Americans. But he emphasized to the Iraqis that Bush sees Iraq's success as important to U.S. interests.
"The president is the architect of U.S. foreign policy," Khalilzad said. "He is the commander in chief of our armed forces. He understands what is at stake in Iraq. He sees success as an imperative for America's national interest. He is committed to working with both houses of the American Congress to get support needed for the mission in Iraq to succeed."
In a smattering of interviews in central Baghdad on Wednesday, Iraqis expressed mixed opinions over the Democrats' victories.
Jassim Saed, who owns a small novelty shop on bustling Sadoun Street, said he listened closely to the rhetoric from the Democratic and Republican candidates through campaign coverage on Arabic-language satellite television.
He said the Democrats echoed many Iraqis' frustration with how the U.S. planners of the war have operated on the ground. But Saed believes the Democrats have yet to articulate what should be done differently to improve the situation for Iraqis.
"The new Congress has to show something new in their policy," Saed said. "They need to tell Iraqi people that they care and they are serious in finding a solution for the situation here."
Dr. Sami Ismael, 58, said he hopes the Democrats' victory will push the Republicans to make necessary changes in tactics.
With the national police infiltrated by militia and the Iraqi army having often proved itself ineffective, many Iraqis have grown to see the U.S. troops as the only forces they trust. Last month, Gen. George Casey, the top commander of U.S. forces in Iraq, said increasing the number of troops on the ground remains an option.
"Whatever they do, it can't get any worse," Ismael said.
Rumsfeld divides Iraqis
Mohammed Dayini, a spokesman for the Sunni National Dialogue Council, said he wished Rumsfeld had resigned earlier.
In many Iraqi circles, Rumsfeld was a divisive figure, the personification of U.S. missteps in the 3 1/2-year-old war. Many agree with critics in Washington who say Rumsfeld's greatest misstep in the war was ignoring Gen. Eric Shinseki's estimate that hundreds of thousands of U.S. troops would be needed for the postinvasion U.S. occupation of Iraq.
"He is the one responsible for the criminal acts at Abu Ghraib and the thousands of innocent Iraqis who have died at the hands of the U.S.," Dayini said.
Al-Musawi was more charitable in his analysis of how Iraqi history will remember Rumsfeld.
"He will be recalled as the man who designed the war that brought down the dictator Saddam Hussein," al-Musawi said. "He will also be remembered as the man who made many miscalculations that caused much suffering for the Iraqi people."

A Little Late.
If you don't think this is the funniest thing you've seen in a while, you might want to go to the doctor, cause you are probably dead.

2 Predictions And A Lesson
Now that the Dems have taken over both houses, here are a couple of predictions I agree with.
1. The MSM will finally start reporting positive news on the economy.
2. The MSM will not report as much, if at all, voter fraud. Also, Republicans will not cry foul on elections, or bring out lawyers...I hope.
Finally a lesson I learned.
Polls don't seem to be as much bullshit as I once thought. Every poll I saw said Dems would take the house and possibly the Senate. Can't say it was luck.
P.S. If you can't beat em join em. PEACE IN THE MIDDLE EAST! (just kidding)

It's Time To Put George In A Home.
Jar Jar strikes again! Darabont is a pretty solid screenwriter, and I'll take Spielberg's opinion over Lucas' every time these days. He probably wanted to bring Short Round back. What an ass.

Cheney Interview
I think he sounds pretty good in this interview. The interviewer seems to try to bait him a couple of times, but Cheney keeps his cool and comes off very well, I think.

Kerry Sticks His Foot In It, Again
John Kerry made a comment yesterday that got quite a few people's panties in a bunch. Including lefty Bloggers. Check out the video here. Kerry is now claiming that he wasn't talking about our troops, but about Pres. Bush. To be quite honest when I read the quote, I thought he was talking about Bush. When I heard the quote, well it sounded a little different. Overall, I still think he was talking about the President, but no matter. I am still happy about the shit storm. This wouldn't have been the first time he said something like this and now I will just sit back and enjoy watching him squirm.
Update:Bush Speaks Out Against Kerry's Comments I think Bush knows that Kerry was talking about him, but since Kerry was ripping on Bush to begin with, then of course Bush is going to extend the same courtesy. Priceless.

Surprise, Surprise!
Turns out Angelina Jolie is a dumb-ass too. Maybe this will begin to show celebrities just how tricky it can be to offer aid to underdeveloped countries. Probably not, though. You know Sean Penn is going to come out and accuse Bush of staling Jolie's money.
Celebrities Are Not Only Better Than You. They're Smarter.
So Brad Pitt almost runs over a bunch of drunks in Amsterdam and naturally comes to the conclusion that everyone in the world hates Americans. I'm not saying that it might not be true that we aren't the most popular country going right now, but I hardly think a bunch of hammered guys spilling out of a bar in the middle of the night constitutes the most accurate portrait of world views on the subject. By the way, I never knew how much Brad and I had in coming. I, too, like to pick up a bike in every country I go to and take a midnight ride. For the record, I'm pretty sure Brad means motorcycle here. Just like me. Vroom! Vroom!

More Big-Government bullshit here.
Seems that government just loves creating more criminals in their never ending quest to make our lives "safer" by taking away our choices.

Mark Steyn For Video Friday
This guy has been appearing on talk radio a lot lately and I really like the way he thinks. I also like the way he is able to put his argument together. He appeared on Hot Air with Michelle Malkin for an interview which I have posted.
Part 1
Part 2
It starts off slow and you have to listen to giggling Michelle but it picks up as it goes. Now I like Michelle's site, but she can be downright schmarmy marmy ( if that is a word) and she also is obssessed with border security, which of course she has to bring up during this interview. Nevertheless, I think Mark Steyn is great. Have fun.

Panties? We Don't Need No Stinkin' Panties!
I've noticed that this site is becoming less and less political which makes me think that the terrorists have won. But then I think, "Well shit, they probably just wanted it more." Anyway, this hot piece is Bianca Gascoigne. I have no idea who she is, but if you're wondering what her bagina looks like, feel free to oggle it here. Silly girl, don't you know the Paparazzi are always watching? Thanks Paparazzi! Bitch needs to think about waxing that crack, though.

Let me know how it turns out. I can't wait to get home. Bitch is fine, yo.

Just A Little Story
I have been wanting to write about an incident that happened some time back for a while now, but I have been so busy lately that I never had an opportunity. Now I do. Super!
I think you all know by now that my favorite watering hole is an Ethiopian place called Jarra's. I have blogged about this place before. HELL! I think I have called each one of you while getting drunk there before. Remember? Do you guys remember when I do that? Huh? Do you?
I guess you can call me a regular at Jarra's. I mean really. I am like Norm from "Cheers" at this bar, but instead they say "Blogust" when I walk in. Over the past 8 months I have naturally been able to meet other Norms at Jarra's. And we all run tabs like Norm and we drink beer like Norm and talk about work and get fat like Norm and yadda yadda yadda.
Anyway, every regular at this bar knows where I stand on politics. Mostly because I like to shout it to the moon. (or is it howl it to the moon? No idea, but I get off on it that is for sure.)
One of the regulars at this bar is named Collette and she is Lesbian and she likes to argue with me. (by the way, her being a lesbian is important to this story). So she is a lesbian and she likes to argue with me, but not in a bad way. In a good way, if there is such a thing. You know, like lets agree to disagree type stuff. So just recently she brought up the whole Foley affair, which I really don't care about, and started making claims that Republicans are hypocritical with their family values, and how Foley was on some Family values committee or some shit and that he just proves how full of shit the whole party is and blah blah blah.
So I say "The difference between Republicans and Democrats is this. When a Republican is caught with his pants down he will resign...usually. A Democrat will take it to court." Of course one has to back up such a claim and so I mentioned Gary Studs. The Democrat Congressman who wasn't busted e-mailing a page like Foley, but actually having sex with a 17 year old page back in 1983 and then went on to be re-elected. You know what she said? "At least it was with a girl!" Isn't that funny? I'll let you guys chew on that for awhile. Those are moments we pray for.
By the way, the page wasn't a girl.

Arrested Development Season 3 review
I just watched AR season 3 and I think it officially jumped the shark. I know everyone was saying Fox was crazy for cancelling this series, and before I saw the final season I agreed. I almost bought into the "America keeps Everybody Loves Raymond and dumps Arrested Development thats how dumb we as a society have become" talk, but now I realize that this final season had to go regardless of our overall IQ. Maybe businesses that are driven by money do know what they are doing. Just thought you'd all like to know.

Super Charged!
For the Charger Fans! (Which should be everyone.) I just read this on ESPN.
Chargers dealing Tomlinson?
San Diego is offering up LaDainian Tomlinson to the highest bidder. The star back has played his way into Marty Schottenheimer's doghouse with his continued insistence on breaking long touchdown runs instead of sticking to his coach's ball control philosophy with nice, simple, 3- to 4-yard, clock-eating rushes that eventually lead to punts and the opportunity to pin opponents back in their own territory.

665,000? More Like 50,000
A medical journal called the Lancet posted a study that claims 665,000 Iraqi civilians have died since 2003. I find this number to be shocking. Not because of the loss of life, but because of what appears to be a blatant mishandling of the truth. Are we to believe that Iraq has lost more people during this war than the U.S. has ever lost in any of the wars it has fought? Are we also to believe that all the headines of 18-30 deaths were extremely inaccurate and that the real count is 770 lives a day? That is quite a margin of error.
But already, the Oregonian is running this report on its frontpage and I am sure SF Comical is doing the same thing. On December of '05, Bush announced that Iraq had lost 30,000 civilians and currently, according to Micheal Medved, the Iraqi Government puts the count at 50,000. Could they both be so wrong?
Iraq the Model has something to say about the Lancet.

I Am Not Afraid To Say It "These Recruits Are Braver Than Me"
NY Times has recruiting numbers for '06. I got this link over at Mudville Gazette. He points out that this story was buried on page 19 in the print version.
Phil Angelides, What An Idiot
I just got a very nice, glossy, 4 page fold out in my mailbox. I assume other Californians reading this got one today too.
Its from Phil Angelides, the Democatic candidate for governor this year. All it shows is 4 pages of pictures with Bush and Arnold together. That's pretty much it. No where does it say ANYTHING about Angelides. Not who he is, what he stands for, or any plans he may have. NOTHING!
This twerp is going to get his ass demolished at the polls. One of the many reasons is that he's a classic bash Bush liberal. His brain dead, no plan thinking goes something like this:
"If I just chant 'Bash Bush' then I'll get elected. Oh, wait... I'm not running against Bush, I'm running against Arnold. Oh well, same thing, no?"
Getting his flyer in the mail today has made me laugh harder than I have in days. I went to his web site to get more of his BS so that my euphoria would continue, and wouldn't you know it, this is linked on his front page.

CBGBs too eh?
My favorite club, The Ivy Room, just closed a month ago. Sucks because it is basically right next to my house.
I've been to CBGB's. The place is a hole. But, hey, its an institution. Much like the Ivy Room was.
Dunno if I like the idea of a CBGB's in Vegas with slot machines. But hell, The Ramones are so over marketed now that it just makes sense.

Colbert 'o8
Man was I wrong about this guy. Stephen Colbert interviews Amy Goodman, uber lefty and founder of Democracy Now, and just rips her a new one. I like that, because it shows that he is willing to take on anyone and recognizes comedy is not pretty. For me, he can do all the Bush bashing he wants and I wont care so much. Now I might actually listen to what he has to say.

Effing World.
At this point I'm sure all or most of you have heard about the horrible tragedy that occured at the Amish schoolhouse in Pennsylvania as well as the shooting and assault in a Colorado high school over the last week. I find myself torn as to whether I'm glad these terribly deranged men took their own lives or were killed by police at the scene, thereby speeding up the process, or whether I would like them to face justice. Sadly, I would go for the former since we in this country are not allowed to treat the truly wicked in the manner they deserve. Could you imagine scores of people marching to save this "poor man who obviously cracked under the pressure of an unhealthy upbringing and the burdens society had placed upon him." Down with the death penalty? I think not. Those poor families. I'm not a big prayer guy, but sometimes you just have to.
I wrote this a couple of days ago, and I wasn't sure I was going to post it. Then I came across the following bit of information and realized there are even more people who need the death sentence, even if they are not committing an actual crime.
Radical Baptist group plans to picket Amish funeralsBy Mario F. CattabianiINQUIRER STAFF WRITER
HARRISBURG - Members of a radical Baptist church plan to picket at the funerals of five Amish girls slain in Lancaster County Monday, believing God is punishing Pennsylvania for the sins of Gov. Rendell.
Word of the protests prompted Rendell today to issue a public plea for everyone, including members from the Westboro Baptist Church in Kansas, to respect the privacy at the funerals planned for tomorrow and Friday.
"I am asking everyone, the people from the church in Kansas, I am asking everyone to please observe the Amish religious tradition and the Amish desire to carry out their funerals in utmost privacy," Rendell said. "Do not try to intrude on their privacy at probably the most terrible moment of tragedy the Amish community has had in its history here in America and Pennsylvania."
The Topeka church announced its intentions on its Web site, GodHatesFags.com.
The church has gained national prominence for picketing at the funerals of American soldiers. They say God is punishing America for its tolerance of gays.
In a rambling news release interspersed with fiery Bible passages, the church said the girls were killed "in punishment for Gov. Ed Rendell's blasphemous sins" against Westboro Baptist. It cited two news media interviews the governor gave soon after he signed legislation this summer banning demonstrations at services for military personnel.
It went on to say that the church "is continuing to pray for even worse punishment upon Pennsylvania."
Asked about the church's view that he brought on this tragedy, Rendell responded, "They are insane."
"This is the same logic that says that we are losing American soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan because there are too many gays in America," he added.
Rendell said he has been in contact with one of the elders in the Amish community "to see if they want state police presence in case the church demonstrates." He said he plans to reach out to elders again later this morning for an answer.
The governor said he would not do anything "that the Amish community doesn't want." One option, he said, is to make sure that if there is a demonstration, it is "far enough away so they don't interfere with the privacy of the funerals."
Last month, church members protested at a funeral home in London, Ky., where a service was being held for a soldier. They shouted and held signs that read "America is doomed," "Thank God for 9/11," "You're going to hell" and "Thank God for dead soldiers."

Teach Your Children Well?
Seriously? First they come out with an energy drink called "cocaine," and now this ad is supposedly showing up in local mags in New York. This is the first I've seen it, though, so it could be a hoax. I doubt it, though.
Crystal Meth is so predominent in the gay community these days that I guess if you find this ad offensive you are probably a homophobe. Homophobe!
Stock Up On Soap You Fools!
I love this representation of the possible bird flu epidemic, but it leaves out some important things. First of all Lee (who you'll notice is an [evil] businessman) was infected by a monkey, that itself was infested by Global Warming (pictured above). Then monkey was then sold to a pet shop in the United States by Patrick Dempsey. The bird flu went airborne in a movie theatre, and if not for the heroics of Dustin Hoffman and Cuba Gooding Jr., many innocent people would have been bombed to oblivion by our evil, heartless rulers here in the U.S. Sadly, Hoffman and Gooding Jr. have thus far been unable to stop Global Warming, so everybody's going to die anyway.

More Bad News For MSM
The Dow Jones broke an intraday record today while oil prices dropped. The previous record was set on Jan. 14th 2000 before the dot com crash. Hmmmm...all of this and right before an election? I wonder how the MSM is going to spin it.?
Newsweek Abroad
I thought this was pretty a interesting cover of Newsweek. Gateway Pundit has the story. I am beginning to wonder if anti-american sentiment was created by the media or if the media is just giving its customers what they want.

Liberals Like Comedians
Well hell, I guess they could say the conservatives like actors. Anyway...
I saw a flyer for this yesterday in SF. I don't understand the title: "3rd Annual Bush Going Away Party"
Is this some sort of way to make the losers feel good? Like, "Well we lost the Presidency, but it means we only get George Bush for more years, so lets start celebrating."
Of course the whole event is about bashing Bush. Yaaaawn.
Money goes to keep that evil military out of high schools. Damned evil military.

No, there is no liberal media bias
I chatted with Blogust yesterday, and one of the points that came up about liberals is that they just don't see the liberal bias that is pretty much in all news media. Yet, when it comes to Fox News, they believe it is so blatantly biased that they don't listen.
So here, for your enjoyment, are two writeups on yesterdays action in the senate. You tell me which one is more biased.
Here's the non-biased Reuters report. " U.S. Congress on Friday moved to block the Bush administration", "Slap in the face", "More than Bush asked for", "Less than Bush asked for"
Bush is always wrong.
Here's the overly-biased report. This is an AP report linked on Fox News' front page. It lists figures, voting totals, it quotes Teddy Kennedy, it talks about divisions, it mentions progress and hurdles. I mean, talk about the bias!
Well rounded.

Over the weekend the Dems were beside themselves over the NIE report of six months ago. I read it and I don't see why they were so excited. See for yourselves.

Have you guys seen this?

Funny. I am sure you all have heard about the new movie where Robin Williams runs for president. Do you think the Dems are starting to realize they have no leadership? Maybe that is why they are putting their faith into comedians.

Are Our Kids Safe Enough, Though?
Okay, those two little fuckers from Columbine seriously messed up this country. I hope someone at least abused their corpses. This is ridiculous. A San Diego cop wouldn't even shoot somebody carrying that thing.

Blame Michael Moore
This is sadnews. But didn't Mr. Moore go out of his way to make the US look like an insane asylum while Canada was a haven of safety? There's this shooting today and the shooting this article mentions in 89. Why was this 89 shooting not mentioned his his praise of Canada?
Besides that, I think its time to start rounding up all D&D, Goth, loners who walk around in black trenchcoats.

Fun Weekend
I was back in San Luis Obispo this past weekend for a friend's birthday party. It was nice seeing old friends. Sorry FryAnEgg, I was not there for long. I'd like to see your house some time.
Went to breakfast with some friends Sunday morning and got the usual liberal group think conversation by which they all speak their mind and just assume everyone else agrees. I kept my mouth shut, but my girl stood up for some points which made me proud. Seemed the conversation revolved around Katrina and Schwarzenegger's latest (gasp!) comments over an open mic about how you don't mess with black/latino mixed women because they are hot blooded. As usual (and like the Ann Coulter comments) its not about whether what was said is the truth, but that it was not PC.
Anyway, the conversation was funny, because I was at a table of mostly girls and their comments went like this:
1- "I just can't vote for Schwarzenegger because of how he treats women."
2- "Yeah, but I also don't know much about Angelenies."
Here's why I laughed, because in my head my answers were this:
1- "But you voted for Bill"
2 - "You obviously don't know anything about Angelinies, since his name is Angelidies"

Video Friday
This one goes out to Lord Kingly and CJ, being that they are San Diego residents. Rob Halford, of Judas Priest, has been known to spend his time in Hillcrest, but I am sure Lord Kingly and CJ already knew that.
Judas Priest really started to become famous when they became targets of Tipper Gore's watchdog group, The Parents Music Resource Center (PMRC). The group was resposible for all the "Parental Guidance: Explicit Lyrics" labels on albums...oh joy. As you would guess, many musicians weren't too crazy about the idea. Here are a couple quotes.
The PMRC proposal is an ill-conceived piece of nonsense which fails to deliver any real benefits to children, infringes the civil liberties of people who are not children, and promises to keep the courts busy for years dealing with the interpretational and enforcemental problems inherent in the proposal's design.
It is my understanding that in law First Amendment issues are decided with a preference for the least restrictive alternative. In this context, the PMRC demands are the equivalent of treating dandruff by decapitation. - Frank Zappa
and
That which is denied becomes that which is most desired, and that which is hidden becomes that which is most interesting. Consequently, a great deal of time and energy is spent trying to get at what is being kept from you. - John Denver
I think both of these guys are right. What do you all think? Has music become more or less raunchy since the days of Judas Priest?

Path To 9/11
ABC is airing a mini-series/docudrama for the anniversary of Sept. 11th. It is titled "Path to 9/11." The odd thing about this series is that it takes shots at the Clinton Administration, as well as, the Bush Administration for not taking terrorism seriously. WOW! MSM taking shots at the Democrats. Can't wait to check it out. As one would expect, liberal bloggers are up at arms about the docu-drama. One argument I have heard them use is that the mini series shouldn't be taken seriously since it is a docu-drama and not a documentary. Apparently, documentaries are accurate and infallible, but we all remember Fahrenheit 9/11.
Clinton is getting in on it too. He is now trying to silence the media.

Got Me A New Book. What Else Is There To Do In Portland?

So, British filmmaker comes up with a faux documentary on what would happen to the war on terror if Bush were assassinated. Does anybody even need to see this? I imagine a perpetual rainbow would appear over the Middle East. Then aliens would come to Earth, wipe out all of the Christian conservatives and teach everyone else how to make Socialism work. Utopia at last!

Christopher Hitchens Flips The Bird
Christopher Hitchens was on "Real Time With Bill Maher" Friday night and managed to sit through the whole show without having his head explode, but what he couldn't contain was his urge to flip off the audience. Childish but funny.
Throughout the interview, Bill Maher would continually go for the cheap laugh and applause by calling the President dumb or a bible thumper (how original), but for me, what Bill Maher intended to say was that anyone who voted for Bush is dumb. Especially those who still support him. All I have to say is "duuuhhhhh...."
Anywho, I am starting to get the feeling that the left feels they have won a moral victory since more and more Americans hate Bush and more and more Americans feel Iraq is a bad idea. But never fear, this dummy (meaning me) hasn't given up hope.

It's a shame we don't have a Hardee's here in San Diego. I'm in the mood to sue somebody. Hmm, maybe I can sue Hardee's for not being here? It's worth a shot, and I'm sure there's a lawyer or two who would take the case. Why can't all these fat American's learn what a freaking calorie is. Def Republican Jam
There are three notable Black Republicans running for office this election year. Lynn Swann for Gov. of Pennsylvania, Ken Blackwell for Gov. of Ohio and Michael Steele for Senate of Maryland. I don't need to explain what all this means. But it doesn't end there. Hip-Hop Mogul, Russell Simmons, is going to be hosting Michael Steele's fundraiser. Good!
If the Democrats lose the black vote they will be in big trouble. If they lose the Jewish vote they will be in big trouble. Who will they recruit next? Anyone? Anyone? If you say illegals, well then you said it...not me.

Back In My Day....
Two Grampies, Grandpa Dylan and Grandpa Bennett, have both come forward to complain about the state of music in the U.S. today. Dylan complains that recorded music doesn't sound as good as it did 20 years ago, while Bennett complains that the U.S. has only contributed "Jazz" to the cultural world. Can you say "dated"? Look, I know I am dated. I hate todays music, but then again I hate music from Bob Dylan and Tony Bennett as well.
How Refreshing
Here's an amazing article where a parent actually does the right thing instead of immediately suing everyone in sight. Imagine encouraging your child to overcome their fears and teaching them a valuable life lesson, instead of a lesson in entitlement and litigation. This woman should teach a parenting course.

With Movies Like "X" and "Do The Right Thing," I Am Sure Spike Lee Is Going To Be More than Fair
Yaaaay! Spike Lee has made a documentary about Hurricane Katrina. Just in time too. August is almost over and not one Big One has hit yet. That doesn't mean a Hurricane wont happen, but if there isn't one as big as Katrina, well Spike Lee has it covered.
There was a video connected to this link on the yahoo homepage. I didn't know how to link to it, but if it is still there, check it out. The video is an interview that Spike Lee gave about his new documentary and in the first few seconds, Spike Lee describes Katrina as the worst "Natural" Disaster and then quickly changes it to the worst "Man-made" Disaster to hit the U.S. No, this mini series wont be biased. Actullay, it might even compete with Bowling for Columbine.
Hey wait a minute, isn't this documentary "Too Soon"?

Iraq Update
After General Abizaid spoke last week, a dark tone has fallen harder on the war in Iraq. It was always there to begin with, but it certainly seems heavier in recent days. Still, in light of the missing Egyptians and the exploding sports drinks, one has to think that a new found vigor will emerge.
Here are a few sites I found interesting.

Everybody Gets A Whole Snow Cone.
Here's another article about how American parents are wussifying their kids. This is pretty much old news these days, but it never fails to piss me off. My favorite line:
"When we went to school, people were bullied. Now we know kids have a much greater instance of suicide and depression when they've been bullied," she says.
I think it's probably far more depressing to turn 14 and realize you suck at everything, but that's just me. I don't have kids. Incidentally, my feelings on the war don't mean squat either.

"Nourishment" Is A Funny Word
What does everyone think about Lieberman's loss in the primaries? Is this good or bad for Democrats? Do you care? What I think is funny is all the outrage about him running as an Independent. I heard some clips of people saying that Joe is turning his back on the Democrats by not stepping down and letting Ned Lamont run alone against the Republican candidate. In other words, after they ate their young, they are now crying that it didn't provide them with nourishment.
Ahmadinejad On 60 Minutes
This is all we need. Does this guys comments read like it came from a Democrat notebook?
Your Girlfriend Is A Nut
This is precisely why I couldn't finish Coulter's book. She may be right on about a few things here and there, but even a blind squirrel finds a nut from time to time. The truth is, though, that I am likely to side with her on a number of issues merely because I lean to the right. But this is beyond right. This crazy bitch is so far to the right she can slap the left on the back of the head when they're not looking. She is just a straight up screaming banshee psychopath. And this is not the only issue in her book where she omitted some key information, took quotes out of context, or took the word of people with an agenda that was obviously the same as hers. This woman has very little credibility as far as I'm concerned. Of course, I feel the same way about people like Cindy Sheehan,Al Franken and Michael Moore.

Here's A Friday Video For you.
Cultural differences can be fun!
Umm...
I don't really know what to say about this. The production value isn't that great, but it's certainly a story that needed to be told. If you are at work, don't even think about it. I'm sorry.
Friday Video

Can anyone guess why I chose this video?

Plato's Republic
One of the biggest problems I have with the abortion debate is the right for girls under 18 to have an abortion without parental consent. Having sex is an adult decision and terminating a pregnancy is also an adult decision. It is that simple for me. Once we start blurring the lines I think it can open up anything. ACLU supports NAMBLA
We Are Sad.
It pains me to admit it, but we as Americans are lackadaisical sports fans. Maybe it's our society's overindulgence. Perhaps we spread ourselves too thin with pop culture and internet porn. Maybe it's that we have no culture or true sense of ourselves. Whatever it is, it must be addressed. Until the day I see a flaming portapotty hurled from atop the Western Metal Building into left field at Petco Park, I am ashamed to call myself a sports fan.

Aliens????
As part of his answer on "Will Humanity Survive?", Hawking honestly brings up Aliens. To me, the question is ridiculous. As is his bringing up Aliens.
OK, lets see, just to name a few...
The Great Flood (For those who believe it) - We Survived
Ice Age - We Survived
The Plague - We Survived
WWI and WWII - We Survived
Just call me Jimbo
