No Vacancy, The Movie

Hokey smoke. I just finished watching this loaded film on PBS:

The World Is Ending

50% of this film is about world population problems. The points made seem to make sense in the parts of the film that address that. But then the other half fell deep into a Liberal almalgam of over used quips and political opinions, most of which are purely there to outright bash America. During the credits, the host says "I think I'm going to move to France".

Man, there were a TON of "experts" in this film (most of whom surely spent a lot of time in the Haight during the 60s) all discussing how the USA consumes too much. How if you go out to eat, you've already spent more than most people in other countries make in a year. How it was up to the "unelightened" people in our government to solve a list of Liberal causes, a list so long and mentioned all at once that I just started laughing.

When it was over I felt the makers of this film either got side tracked or purposely started a film meant to talk about population growth issues, but then started having too much fun showing how enlightened they were and how stupid everyone in the USA is.

Take a few moments to view the bios of the people involved in the film. That will give you a good idea of what the film is like.

Smoke em if you got em

I am at loss when I read the recent life expectancy chart for Europe. What I saw is countries with a high number of smokers (Switzerland and Germany) had the same life expenctancy as countries with a low number of smokers (Sweden and Greece.) What is even more interesting is the US has a worse life expectancy than all of the above and has better smoking statistics than most of Europe. Then take Japan. Japanese life expectancy is 80 years which is three years more than Sweden. Japan smokes (32%) more than Sweden (16%) too...and more than Germany and more than Switzerland. So what separates Japan from Europe? Fat. Ironically for Michael Moore, as he fights big tobacco, his body has a less chance of seeing 60 than a smokers. Smoking sucks because if you do get lung cancer it is a miserable way to die and addiction is also miserable. But I would still rather see a 15 year old smoking than an overweight 15 year old pounding his second bag of Funyons.

Smoking Baby? Sweet.

Phillip Morris should probably just shut up and look the other way here. Of course, they would be missing out on a probable cash windfall, cause I know that if I see a smoking baby, I'm sure as hell going to buy a smoking baby.

As far as the teenage years being crucial to initial brand selection, I must go on the record as "disagrees." I mean seriously, I smoked Dorals cause that's all I could afford. When I got a job I moved up to Camels and now I smoke Marlboros. Find the rhyme or reason in all of that nonsense.

Oh...uh, right. And Truth damn it!

Huh.

Interesting.

Faith? Not Quite.

I'm not much of a religious zealot. In fact, I couldn't really say I fully subscribe to any one order of religious guidelines, but I hate to see a smug jerk like this take a shot at religion based on such a ridiculous argument.

First off, I've never been to Pittsburgh, but no one I know who has ever mentioned that it was was overrun-nay, infested- with such intense Christian warriors. It seems this poor man is accosted on an alarming basis with the threat of conversion. Thankfully, he is able to deter all but the most rabid practitioners with his oh so indisputable "philosophical counterpoints."

My favorite part of the piece is where he compares what these three little pricks did to putting church leaflets on your car or someone asking you if they can pray for you. Annoying? Sure. The same? Not so much. Try comparing it to walking into the policemen's ball and shouting, "Pigs suck!" That might be a little closer. It's called inciting a crowd, and I sincerely doubt these kids were trying to convert anybody. Just piss them off.

Honestly, overbearing religious zealotry bothers me as well. I feel that the people that stand outside soldiers' funerals with signs saying "God hates fags!" should probably be charged with stalking and harassment as well. But if someone wants to pray for me, I say have at it. It can't hurt.

100th Anniversary of the 1906 SF Quake

April 18th will mark the 100th anniversary of the great 1906 quake. "Most experts" are predicting that the SF bay is due for something of that magnitude. There could be "unmitigated, complete, or absolute" desctruction in this area they say. Such a quake "could have" interesting siginificance, "virtually" shutting down communications, travel, power, etc.

Part of me just wants it to happen on a grand scale just to see what the rest of the US does. Maybe most of the US would just sit back and watch and laugh as Federal aid does not come due to this town's insistance on being idiotic.

Hell, it would be the best thing to happen that would allow people to buy homes around here.

It Keeps Getting Better And Better

Now that Moe is hob nobbing with Ahmadinejad, I might have to change his name. Any suggestions?

I like America.

So if you like America too, welcome, I'm glad you're here. But pay your taxes.

Here's a stereotypical aritlce. It has everything in a short little package:

Ted Kennedy
Martin Luther King - Of course brought up by Teddy
The Bible
American Flags
Hate Crimes
Protests
and so on....

Naw, there's no slant in this article at all...

What fun.

When Will They Outlaw It?

Time and time again this game has proven to be nothing more than the devil's plaything. When will the needless violence and loss of life end? When will we no longer have to sweep the sewers for our missing children? Damn you Gary Gygax! Damn you to the very hell you have created here on Earth!

Of Course France Let Me Down!

Once a wimp, always a wimp I guess. I'm so glad I voted for a man that has stuck to his plan, unlike this government. Once again, unions triumph in slowly ruining an economy.

Countless Whining

A few posts back, Lord Kingly spoke of irresponsible journalists who liked to use various catch words. The most notable word Lord Kingly discussed was "countless" which I must admit gives endless possibilities to a journalist when they want to make a bad situation so much worse. The phrase "countless bodies" makes the reader believe that there were so many dead people lying around, the English language has yet to develop a word to actually explain the total number. I would like to add a couple of other choice words/phrases journalists love to play around with.

1. "Most Experts." I love this one. It kind of gives me the image of a group of really smart guys sitting in a room to discuss an issue. For example: "Most experts agree that the Iraq war is an unmitigated disaster." Don't you feel like these experts took a vote and the only reason why they can't write "all experts" is because of various bathroom breaks or cell phone interruptions during the hand count? What makes this sentence even better is the word "unmitigated." I don't know what this word means, all I know is it turns disaster into a really bad disaster.

2. "Could have." Journalists are suppose to report what did happen, but this little beauty gives them the opportunity to report what they wanted to happen. For example. "The syringe thrown at Barry Bonds could have had a needle on it. Therefore, this was a dangerous situation so anyone who throws anything on the field should be arrested." My question: What about beach balls? How about oppposing hitter home run balls at Wrigley Field? Should all those people be arrested? And the idea that the syringe COULD HAVE had a needle is so lame. It didn't. If someone threw a beach ball at Barry Bonds COULDN'T they HAVE duct tape a Bowie knife to it as well before throwing said object?

Please add any of your favorites to this growing list.

The Chronic "What" cles of Portland.

I went to a Trailblazers game last night. It was my first NBA live experience. It was totally fun. Basketball is very enjoyable in real time. Afterwards, I went to the Langana Lounge, which is a bar right next door to my place, and ordered some Mild curry chicken Ethiopian food. The spicy food in Portland is no joke, so beware if you decide to go beyond medium. After I got my food I sat down next to some people I had met a couple of weeks ago. This is very unusual since I am having a hard time meeting anyone since arriving in Portland a month and half ago. Before eating, I took the meat off the bone and put the bare bones on my bread plate to my right. The girl to my left then asked if she could have my napkin. I of course was like "Sure." She took the napkin, unfolded it, reached across the table and covered my chicken bones in order to hide it from sight. This sorta thing is something I have had to get used to since moving to the SE part of Portland. Were the bones unsightly? Was she a vegetarian and felt the bones represented a corpse? I don't know. It made since to her though and I didn't bother asking what the big deal was. The problem was solved. My dinner, my napkin, my responsibility. I should have thanked her for correcting the situation I suppose.

As I ate, some other girl sat down in the chair on my right and started talking about how wonderful Portland is. Most of the people I have met in the SE part of town are not from Portland. In fact, they are not even from Oregon. New York, Mass., Penn., and other East Coast places plus California are the common areas of transfer. Despite all of that, it is very easy to run into someone who has lived here for a long time. As the girl continued yacking and laughing with a weird nervous little stammer, she complained that California had nothing to offer the world anymore. In fact, she explained that Portland is what San Francisco used to be 35 years ago. I could only imagine what she meant by that statement, especially since I had come to a similar conclusion. I made the mistake of pointing out that California has one of the most productive economies in the world and that the GDP....She stopped me right there. Apparently GDP means nothing. She got up and left.

Some other people arrived shortly after. The girl to my left pulled out a credit card receipt from her pocket. Apparently, Johnny Marr had come into her bar/cafe earlier that day. Finding someone who works in a bar, coffee house, or bakery is not hard to do in SE. Finding someone who loves beer and cigarettes, American Spirits of course, is also very easy. God, I should be doing well in the friends department...oh well. Moving on, the girl kept the receipt with his signature on it and showed the new arrivals what she had. I thought that was pretty cool. I like the Smiths and Johnny Marr is like an Indie Rock icon. So good for her. After that, my company started talking about how interesting it would be if Prince came into her bar. "Would he sign it with that weird Prince symbol?" was the obvious joke that followed. This led to dicussing his new album, as well as, "Diamonds and Pearls."

As the night wore on, I started to feel out of place. The dead give away was that the four of them got up from my table and sat at a table in another room that only had four chairs. To be fair, one of the people said it was OK if I joined them, but I was tired and I needed to get some sleep. I forgot my sweater and went back to my table which was already taken by a group of 3. One of them was the yacker. When I picked up my sweater, the fella asked "is this your stuff?"
"The sweater is mine" I replied.
"What about this beer and the Empty dishes?"
"No" I lied. Actually, they weren't all mine. The others left their empties on the table also. I had this feeling that these people wanted me to bus my table and of course I wasn't going to do that. So I left.
Ahhhh....Making friends.

Q and A

Talking to some of my liberal friends, one of the main points they often make about Bush is that he doesn't answer tough questions. That he is incapable of thinking for himself and that in fact, his answers are already written and the questions are already anticipated. We who actually watch the presidents speeches know that is not true. He may stammer his prepared speeches, but when it comes to answering questions off the cuff, few are able to stump him. We have seen him perform brilliantly during question and answer periods and we have seen him go from defensive to offensive in a matter of moments. Sadly, he is given very little credit by the people who are not "tuned in." I am sure they would say he wears a wire. So, why waste my breath.

Expose The Left has a good take on this very thing. This is what he wrote:"An audience member at a Bush speech in Charlotte, NC today challenged Bush’s terrorist surveillance program, among other things. It seemed like this guy was given a prepared speech from the DNC.....Of course CNN only shows the guy bashing Bush and not the tremendous response the President gave that hosed this guy down.
Of course this guy is now the “hero of the day” for the left. Apparently, you only have to be able to stand up to the President."

Here is the transcript:

Q You never stop talking about freedom, and I appreciate that. But while I
listen to you talk about freedom, I see you assert your right to tap my
telephone, to arrest me and hold me without charges, to try to preclude me from
breathing clean air and drinking clean water and eating safe food. If I were a
woman, you’d like to restrict my opportunity to make a choice and decision about
whether I can abort a pregnancy on my own behalf. You are—

THE PRESIDENT: I’m not your favorite guy. Go ahead. (Laughter and applause.) Go on, what’s your question?

Q Okay, I don’t have a question. What I wanted to say to you is
that I—in my lifetime, I have never felt more ashamed of, nor more frightened by
my leadership in Washington, including the presidency, by the Senate,
and—

AUDIENCE MEMBERS: Booo!

THE PRESIDENT: No, wait a sec—let him speak.

Q And I would hope—I feel like despite your rhetoric, that compassion and common
sense have been left far behind during your administration, and I would hope
from time to time that you have the humility and the grace to be ashamed of
yourself inside yourself. And I also want to say I really appreciate the
courtesy of allowing me to speak what I’m saying to you right now. That is part
of what this country is about.

THE PRESIDENT: It is, yes. (Applause.)

Q And I know that this doesn’t come welcome to most of the people in this room,
but I do appreciate that.

THE PRESIDENT: Appreciate—

Q I don’t have a question, but I just wanted to make that comment to you.

THE PRESIDENT: I appreciate it, thank you. Let me—

Q Can I ask a question?

THE PRESIDENT: I’m going to start off with what you first said, if you don’t mind, you said that I tap your phones—I think that’s what you said. You tapped your phone—I tapped your phones. Yes. No, that’s right. Yes, no, let me finish.
I’d like to describe that decision I made about protecting this country. You can come to whatever conclusion you want. The conclusion is I’m not going to apologize for
what I did on the terrorist surveillance program, and I’ll tell you why. We were
accused in Washington, D.C. of not connecting the dots, that we didn’t do
everything we could to protect you or others from the attack. And so I called in
the people responsible for helping to protect the American people and the
homeland. I said, is there anything more we could do.

And there—out of this national—NSA came the recommendation that it would make sense for us to listen to a call outside the country, inside the country from al Qaeda or suspected al Qaeda in order to have real-time information from which to possibly prevent an attack. I thought that made sense, so long as it was constitutional. Now, you may not agree with the constitutional assessment given to me by lawyers—and
we’ve got plenty of them in Washington—but they made this assessment that it was
constitutional for me to make that decision.

I then, sir, took that decision to members of the United States Congress from both political parties and briefed them on the decision that was made in order to protect the American people. And so members of both parties, both chambers, were fully aware of a program intended to know whether or not al Qaeda was calling in or calling out of the country. It seems like—to make sense, if we’re at war, we ought to be using tools necessary within the Constitution, on a very limited basis, a program
that’s reviewed constantly to protect us.

Now, you and I have a different—of agreement on what is needed to be protected. But you said, would I apologize for that? The answer—answer is, absolutely not. (Applause.)

A Dark Day For Justice.

Outspoken police beating and alternative hairdo advocate Cynthia McKinney was forced into submission and delivered an apology for her alleged outburst toward a Capitol City Police Officer last week. Despite the support of such icons of fairness and liberty as Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, the oppressive powers that be have seemingly scored a point for their dark cause.

EPA, Just Say No

More from the automotive world.

Here's another good thread from the HAMB. Seems the EPA is thinking about making it illegal to paint as a hobby. The reality of what's going on is that bigger body shops are funding EPA regluations that would make the cost of paint skyrocket, among many other things. I'm sure it will all be spun as "Good for the Environment", but the truth of the matter is that yet again a bureaucracy is getting used as a point of control to drive out competition.

Here's the HAMB thread.

Here's my response.

And this response just cracked me up.

Now my response also links to articles about Clark Foam, another EPA masterpiece. This one is totally ironic too in that surfers tend to be environmentally active. In this case the environmentalists just shot themselves in the foot because they were too blind to see what REAL affects their actions were having.

Let Us Know When You're Ready, Then.

Why won't they let us forget? This chaps my ass so bad I can't see strait. We the people, need to be reminded that we are targets of terrorism. That the status quo can explode in your face in the blink of an eye. That whether you like it or not, we are in a war, and it isn't going away. If it were up to me, this trailer would be required to be played before every movie. During every commercial break of every T.V. show, for that matter. Never forget. And every tear you shed for that day is a patriotic act in my mind. Don't fight it.

Check it out here.

NASCAR Fans Are Racist?

Way to go, NBC. Next time why don't you throw one of your in-depth investigative reporters into the shark tank, so we can figure out once and for all if they really eat people.

For the record, I don't really think all NASCAR fans are racist. Only the ones wearing white after Labor Day, if you know what I mean. Wink, wink. Nudge, nudge.

How Do I Get Into This Racket?

I swear, being an activist has got to be the sweetest job going. I mean, seriously. Take Curly Belafonte for example. What has he done lately as an entertainer? I mean other than have his song...ummm...daylight come and me wanna go home...or whatever it is called, in the movie Beatleguese. What has he done? I mean really. Now he is everywhere...err...activising..and shit.

Pick Your Representation.

Once again, as Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton rally to try and keep their man in office, long time comedian Bill Cosby sounds more like the voice of reason. Cosby has made his own mistakes, but his sentiments here are right on track with the types of ideas these communties should embrace. These are the issues the need to be addressed.

What Would The Thought Police Say? Or The Dream Police, For That Matter? What A Great Song.

Is it just me, or does anyone else out there worry just a bit when someone uses the term Big Brother in a positive light? I truly believe that this article tells a good story, but I don't believe that these cameras are exactly true to the spirit of Big Brother as we know it. Maybe another term would relay the story in a more positive light. On the flipside, does this count as one of the baby steps, like traffic and freeway cameras, to unlimited surveilance? Maybe Big Brother is more apt than I thought. Quite the quandary, but I would say that if the people called for this type of protection through technology, then it doesn't fall under the umbrella of government intrusion.

This Is An Elected Official.

The video in here is pretty long, but only a few minutes tells the story. Fortunately, her own party seems to be trying to distance themselves from this garbage.

More Celebrity "News"

I'm not quite sure how long ago this happened, because Kanye West has been pretty absurd for a while now, but at some point he said that if the Bible were written today he'd be one of the characters in it. Well, I'm not a big fan of Carlos Mencia, but here's his take on Kanye's growing ego, and I've got to admit, it's good stuff. Enjoy!

Gruesome Photos Rarely On Frontpage, Unless...

Black Five is showing LA Times front page photo on his web site. Click here to see what he has to say about it. Also Click Here to see the photos you hardly ever, if ever at all, find on the front page of the LA Times.

Gateway Pundit has a good take regarding this photograph and the Muslim comics.

Overpopulation In China By "Wee Fuckem Yung"

I saw this article yesterday and I couldn't post it, but his views have been circulating the radio and the web and I just can't ignore it anymore. Read about this psycho.

Look, I can't change anybodies minds about the so called "Overpopulation Crisis." As far as I am concerned, there is no crisis. There is just no evidence that supports it. In fact, countries with positive population growths do better than countries with population in decline. This sort of statement however falls on deaf ears to the converted. So I will leave you with this.

If you took all the people in the world, which is about 7 billion and you grouped them up into families of four, gave them each a 1/4 acre. You could fit every family into a state the size of Texas. After that, turn the rest of the world into a Safari Getaway for all I care.

"Confidant To Sistani Calls For Jaafari To Step Down"

Bill Roggio over at The Fourth Rail, has an imformative post regarding a prominent Shiite asking for Jaafari to step down. This is great news for the Iraqi Govt. Jaafari has been unable to unify the different Iraqi political groups and has been seen as a puppet of Radical Shiites, namely Al Sadr, since he became Prime Minister in 2005.

In Bill's words:
It is clear Sistani has jettisoned support for Jaafari, which all but spells the
end of Jaafari's bid to lead the new government and Sadr's influence with
Jaafari. Sadr has overreached with his threats
against SCIRI's Abd al-Aziz al-Hakim and members of the UIA
, as well as the
actions of his Mahdi Army militia, and will pay a harsh political price for his
actions.
If you like this article, then I suggest you should visit this site regularly. This guy has a new update almost everyday. Also, "Iraq The Model", is another good one. The writer is an Iraqi citizen who blogs straight from Iraq, plus he has about 50-60 other Iraqi bloggers which he links to.

Was I Right?

First, I want to set up a disclaimer. I am about to post on some comments that were made in the past. I hope I wont be breaking the only rule of Blogust, which is don't post on other peoples posts, but since this is a post on comments, then I hope that I am not out of bounds. If I am, please let me know and I will delete it.

Lord Kingly, Baron Von Mike and I were having a discussion a week ago about hollywood conspiracies. It was in regards to how the liberal media was going to spin Moussaoui's testimony. And this is what I wrote.
Here is a conspiracy. Of course I'll be making this up as I go, but try this
one. Moussaoui was hired by Bush to blow up the White House and that is why Bush
was conveniently on a trip reading "my pet goat" to children. When the planes
hit WTC, Ari Fleischer whispered into Bush's ear "The plan is unfolding, soon we
will have Iraq oil."
Well what do you know, Seth Green and Erica Jong almost said this very thing. Watch it here. Of course, I got Ari Fleischer confused with Andy Card. I think one story was that Ari Fleischer was in the back of the room and flashed Bush a note that read "DON'T SAY ANYTHING YET!" My mistake, I am sorry.

Rock Video

This video is craptacular. It is called "Bush Was Right." Honestly the song sucks, but I think it is kinda funny and it should ruffle some feathers.

Tony Blair Gives a Speech

Tony Blair gave a speech a couple of weeks ago and you can check it out over at Michelle Malkins page. He makes some of the same points Bush has made about the war, but with a lot less stuttering and with a slick British accent. So if you can't stand listening to Bush, give Blair a try.

More fun in France

Ahhh Socialists.... In their misdirected attempt to create job security all they've done is make it so that employers are scared to hire anyone. The same can be said here in America where affirmative action is backfiring the same way.

Amazingly the French government seems to be trying to change things, a little. It's still government meddling in free enterprise, but I guess its a step in some kind of correct direction. Hell, the French Parliament and the French President have stood up to the protests by those spoiled students and the government is kind of, sort of, moving forward with the original plan.

You're Fired

Sin Francisco.

Well the "celebrate diversity" crowd was at it again this past weekend in San Francisco. A Christian organization, who stands for reaching out to youth and showing them there are solutions to life other than the "do it if it feels good" message that is preached by so many cultural figure heads and media pipes, was in San Francisco. OH MY? CHRISTIANS? IN SAN FRANCISCO? HEAVEN FORBID!! GET OUT THERE AND PROTEST!!

If you've ever wanted to read a biased report, here it is, from my favorite rag The SF Chronicle:

Stop those Nazis

Only in such a "progressive" city would those that stand for Love be hated so.

And why is the city council getting involved? This place is rampant with human feces and homeless, yet they spend so much time issuing useless symbolic statements and laws like: "Christians out!", "Military out!", "Guns out!". All 3 of which have been official SF Government stances this past year.

I hope some of you out there got to see South Park on Wednesday. Here's a clip.

And here's the web site of the Christian organization: Battle Cry

The Party That Is Controlled By "Group Think"

The Republicans don't always agree with one another. The latest esxamples of that is the illegal immigration bill and the Dubai Ports deal, but they also don't eat their young when disagreements occur. This really can't be said about the opposition party. I don't want to beat a dead horse, but I am going to. When it comes to the War in Iraq, the Democrats are in total disarray.

This party is so scared of its "Kook Base" that representatives are afraid to come forward if they support this war. Zel Miller is good example of what happens to them if they do. And it doesn't stop with him. We all remember how Curly Joe Sheehan threatened to challenge Feinstein for supporting The Presidents war policies and there was Susan Sarandon's comment about how Hillary Clinton was "A Great Disappointment" because of Clinton's initial vote and support for the war. (Clinton was also booed during a speech she gave at some college, but I can't remember the details. I do know that her war stance was the reason for the ruckus) Now we have Leiberman
"Sen. Joe Lieberman’s strong stand on national security has so rankled some
fellow Democrats that they actually booed him at a political dinner on Thursday
night."
You have got to be kidding me. McCain has rankled many a Republicans feathers, but is he booed at political dinners? Not that I know of.

Money Well Earned.

The wussification goes on.

Once Again, MSM Bias

The Associated Press has shown once again "Main Stream Media bias" and it is shocking. With serious issues such as the War, Wiretapping, Illegal immigration, Iran etc. One would think that any respectable journalist would try their hardest to get every crumb of detail, every morsel of truth, in order to tell the whole story...but alas, they insist on pushing their own agenda and only publishing information that supports that agenda. GET BUSH!

A judge who co-authored FISA, said
"...the president was duly authorized under the Constitution to order the
wiretapping of suspected terrorists - without getting a warrant from the
FISA Court."
Judge Allan Kornblum went onto say
"If a court refuses a FISA application and there is not sufficient time for the
president to go to the court of review, the president can under executive order
act unilaterally, which he is doing now,"
So what did the AP report? They quote Kornblums remarks of "I am very wary of inherent authority . . . It sounds very much like King George." and nothing about his remarks about Bush's power to act unilaterally.

Fly To Israel?

I saw this banner add and just had to comment. I could not stop laughing at the irony. I mean, I'm sure people fly to Israel, and I would like to visit someday, but man its gonna be years before I set foot on a plane to or from there.

And what's with daily flights from Atlanta? Is that some Jewish hub or something?

Once Again, I'm Not A Monster

I think we can all agree that this guy most likely deserves a couple of years in jail for being an abusive ass hole (I'm sure that'll rehabilitate him), but to equate the life of a goldfish with that of a cat or dog seems a bit absurd to me. This seems to be a situation where the court sets precedent based on heart. An ugly can of worms may well be hanging open. Fraternities beware, you are facing hard time. Goldfish are the new jailbait.

Watch Out Osama! The Big Bad Dems Are Coming

This article made my morning. Who is this party kidding anyway? The party of "I voted for the War before I voted against it?" I mean come on...They are no more than a Paper Tiger. No Agenda, no loyalty and no support. I take that back, they do have an agenda. GET BUSH!

This Sucks.

This article doesn't say exactly where these guys got through our borders, but suddenly I feel as though maybe San Diego is getting a little played. A fresh change of scenery might be in order.

Really?

This sets an interesting precedent. That's all I'm going to say, but keep in mind that if you intend to comment on this, I may believe you are insulting me, in which case, put your dukes up!

I Swear I'm Not A Monster, But This Stuff Just Drives Me Nuts!

This article was mistakenly placed in the "news" section of the Mirror UK. It is obviously an editorial, and therefore does not really bother me because everyone is entitled to their opinion. Unfortunately, because it was placed in the wrong section, I was originally a bit upset to see that it was reported to be a fact, rather than an opinion, that Canada increased the cull by 5,000 in retaliation to Paul McCartney. Or that due to the conditions of the ice, "countless" (One of my favorite weasel words going) seals would have drown anyway, rendering the cull completely unnecessary. Also, I don't think that this would be the first time anyone admitted that the cull made money, but I find it conspicuous that no source is quoted when it is said that the government has admitted that money is the "impetus" for the hunt. I would like to know who "some vets" are , and which "REport" says that up to 40% of these seals "could still be" alive when skinned? Oh, and seal hunters are surly and stubborn; Unable to see the barbarism in their ways. I could go on and on pointing out the obvious fouls in this "article," but I'm already stewing over the fact that I'm defending Canada (They rag on Hollywood and the fashion industry too, but I just can't defend them). Damn undercover PETA jerks!

All I Need Is My Ann Coulter Doll, A Cool Buzz, And I'm Fine!

The truth is, I couldn't care less how anyone feels or what anyone says about Ann Coulter. I do, however, find it funny that uber serious douche bag Sean Penn would say the following about his Ann Coulter doll:

"We violate her. There are cigarette burns in some funny places. She's a pure snake-oil salesman. She doesn't believe a word she says."

Sweet! I knew you were still in there somewhere Spiccoli!

Seriously, Sean, this kind of juvenile crap can really dent your credibility. You've got to be careful what you say around the media. And by media, I mean the waiter that served your Kiwitinis while you were relaying this story to Tim and Susan.

Try And Tell Me This Guy Ever Gets Old.

Yayyy! Hugo Chavez wakes me up on a Monday once again. This guy is freaking solid gold and I swear to God if he puts out a spoken word album, I will be the first in line to snap that puppy up, because it's sure to be the most entertaining thing since Tenacious D. Speaking of which, don't tell me there would be anyone in the world better suited to portray this crazy bastard than Jack Black. I'm writing the script as we speak. Oh, who am I kidding? It writes itself.

You May Want To Have A Seat.

Sharon Stone has lost it, and I think I may lose my lunch. Here's what she said:

"I think Hillary Clinton is fantastic. But I think it is too soon for her to run. This may sound odd, but a woman should be past her sexuality when she runs. Hillary still has sexual power, and I don't think people will accept that. It's too threatening."

I find the very notion threatening.

Damned If You Do, Damned If You Don't

I find this interesting. Sure, this may seem like a severe and even somewhat barbaric form of punishment, but with parents today being threatened with jail time for kids skipping class (Which, from my personal recollections, my parents probably couldn't have done much about, if they had even known it was going on), maybe a more traditional "Time Out" just doesn't cut the mustard.

Bush lied! People died!

Go fuck yourself.

Here's the final reply to all the conspiracy theorists:

Moussaoui's own testimony, the bane of Liberals everywhere

Case closed. Pull those damned bumper stickers off your car and wake up.

And what's up with this lawyer's completey asinine reasoning:

"Before he took the stand, his lawyers made a last attempt to stop him from testifying, but failed. Defense attorney Gerald Zerkin argued that his client would not be a competent witness because he has contempt for the court, only recognizes Islamic law and therefore "the affirmation he undertakes would be meaningless."

- OR -

"If my client gets up there, he's going to let everyone know he's guilty. He's going to bluntly inform the world that this was not a US government conspiracy. He's going to let the world know the truth. I CAN'T LET THAT HAPPEN."

Whatever verdict is applied to Moussaoui, it should also be applied to his lawyer.

And the irony never ends given that Moussaoui is a French citizen and speaks in an English/French accent...

Napoleon Escaped Exile Also

In June 2004 a Frenchman tossed a bag over a fence at the White House prompting a potential bomb threat. As it turned out, the bag was full of garbage and the man, Cyrille Mourotte, was deported out of the U.S. Last week, the same man was arrested for the same act, tossing a bag of garbage over a White House fence. I have two questions, what statement is he trying to make by throwing garbage onto the White House lawn? Second, and more important, how did he get back into the country after being deported two years ago?

In some sense, this story can be very amusing. "Har har, you stupeed, you take my garbage! Aaw haw!" He tossed the bag with an empty bottle and cheese rinds over the high fence. With a sneer and a twirl of his moustache, the man in the striped shirt tip-toed into the shadows.

With T.S.A., Homeland Security, the Patriot Act and all the other "safeguards" supposedly protecting America and our borders, how could this happen? How did this guy get kicked out of the country and then let back in? Who else has been let in to the country that shouldn't have been? He must have shown identification at customs, did he use his real passport or a fake one? If he used a counterfeit, that is something we need to address. If he used his own name on an official document, why wasn't he on some list of people who should not be let in the country.

Maybe deportation doesn't and shouldn't equal banishment. I hope that Cyrille Mourotte's second chance is not granted others who may have more serious and dangerous statements to make.

The 51st State

Over the weekend 500,000 people marched through Los Angeles, 50,000 protested through Downtown Denver, 20,000 in Phoenix, between 5,000 and 7,000 in Charlotte, 4,000 in Sacramento and 1,500 in Dallas in what has been the largest demonstration in recent American history. A demonstration, that was in fact, profoundly different than what we Americans have become accustomed to as of late. There were no flag burnings, no grand arrests, no posters of propaganda and of hate, no bile spitting slogans that insulted our Country nor our President and most importantly NO HIPPIES!!! Instead it was a peaceful demonstration of pride, of wrapping oneself in the Flag, of hard work, of being treated fairly and prosperity for future generations. Something I haven't seen in a long time. So what was this demonstration?

Well recently, congress has been making attempts to "make illegal immigration a felony and to build more walls along the border." One wall would be at least 7 miles long between the California/Mexico border. The demonstration was comprised mostly of Mexican-Americans who feel that this is unjust. Give it a Read.
Reports say that demonstrators were draped in the Mexican and the American flag, chanting "Mexico! USA!" as well as "Si se puede," which translates to "Yes, we can." Enough said.

I don't know how I feel about immigration, for I know we are all immigrants. I just wish we could swap the people who seemingly hate this country for the people who actually like living here.

Tom Cruise Loses Popularity Contest To Sadam

You think it is hard being George Bush? Try being Tom Cruise.
Stuff Magazine asked readers who among four personalities they would least like
to share a camping tent with overnight. Cruise took the prize with 41 percent,
with Saddam trailing at 39 percent.
Now that is just mean...other than divorcing Nicole Kidman, Shooting his mouth off, follow a whacky religion and not revealing his lust for man meat, he really hasn't done anything wrong. You know like...genocide, meat grinder, chemical warfare... stuff like his competition was up to. It is obviously a joke

Save The Planet. Drive a Hot Rod.

I spend a lot of time on a hot rod bulletin board called The H.A.M.B. Stands for Hokey Ass Message Board. This site is devoted to traditional hot rodding. You don't find many zany environmental arguments on a hot rod board, but this site in particular is much more level and thoughful when it comes to any tech regarding internal combustion. I'm really enjoying this thread and just thought I'd pass it along. It may be a little long, but I think there's some interesting points made regarding HYBRIDS, new cars, and electricity based transportation in general.

Tip Of The Iceberg

Here is another document that has come out drawing a link between Sadam and Osama. Also, over at Expose The Left, Stephen Hayes goes on Hannity and Colmes to show how Iraq and Al-Qaeda were connected. One point that is made in the video is that the argument "for war" was never about Sadam and 9/11, but instead it was about Sadam and Al-Qaeda, as well as, weapons. To understand many of us who supported this war, I think people need to realize this distinction.

Larry Burns His Underwear To Thwart Assassination Attempts

Awesome! I have been waiting for something juicy to pop up about Fidel "Larry" Castro. I mean the whole Abajo Fidel during the World Baseball Classic was alright, but this bit of news is priceless. It says that Larry "....has his underwear burned to foil any assassination plots with chemicals during laundering." That is not all it says either. You have to check it out.

Can you name any other Dictators in the past who were paranoid about assassination?

Aaaaaaaaaagh!!!

What the hell is a renegade baseball? And I'd be worried that a "reduced injury" ball would encourage beaning, as well as not paying much attention to what the hell is going on. Absurd.

I Thought They Hated Us?

Tell me again how we don't make the U.N. go around.

Okie-Dokie.

So it goes without saying, that Leroy Jenkins will never get a job in senior management.

What? I can get fired?

Hey, our favorite country is having fun again.

Socialism Is Fun

Or wait, maybe our favorite country is Canada, or Venezuela? Oh well, France is just as fun.

This You Will Like. Or Not.

This guy will never get work in Hollywood. Enjoy.

I'm Offended By Their Unwillingness To Offend

No matter how hard I try, I don't know if I'll ever understand why people are offended by this. It's not like it's a statue of Hitler wearing angel wings or something. It seems to me that some people are only offended because something that brings joy to others does not do the same for them. Or, in the case of many Aetheists I know, they are offended by people having beliefs that they feel are stupid, backward and without scientific merit. Whether you believe that or not, so what? Live and let live. Nobody commissioned these people to save the rest of the world from hope and teach people to accept their eventual oblivion.

It's A Matter Of Credibility.

As you all know, I have a problem with the celebrity political forum. I am tired of Susan Sarandon, Tim Robbins, Sean Penn and Alec Baldwin using their star power to sway tabloid consumers to there way of thinking. Much of this is due to the fact that I don't believe these people are even remotely in touch with the common man, especially middle America. I also wonder how people who claim to be so busy all the time with their careers and commitments have the time to actually educate themselves about such complexities. But mostly, having gone through high school drama and being a theatre major in college for a ridiculous two years of my life, I can honestly say that actors are not typically very bright, and that if they ever had souls to begin with they were long ago traded for a mocha cappucino or a free Brazilion wax.

HOWEVER, occasionally a celeb comes along who's charisma and conviction are so strong, one can not help but stand at attention; To reassess our beliefs and embrace ideas that once seemed implausible. That celebrity? Charlie Sheen. His words:

"It seems to me like 19 amateurs with boxcutters taking over four commercial airliners and hitting 75 percent of their targets, that feels like a conspiracy theory. It raises a lot of questions,""A couple of years ago, it was severely unpopular to talk about any of this. It feels like from the people I talk to, and the research I've done and around my circles, it feels like the worm is turning.""Just show us how this particular plane pulled off these maneuvers . . . It is up to us to reveal the truth. It is up to us because we owe it to the families, we owe it to the victims, we owe it to everyone's life who was drastically altered, horrifically, that day and forever. We owe it to them to uncover what happened."

There you have it. 9/11. We did it! I realize that the theory that the U.S. government set up 9/11 is not a new one, but it never carried much weight for me until CHARLIE SHEEN researched the issues WITHIN HIS OWN CIRCLES, forcing him to ask some tough questions. That shit is for rizzle. I think I speak for 100% of the country when I say, "Impeach!"

The Portland Mercury

One of the weekly papers here in Portland is called The Mercury. It is like the Teen/Indie/Alternative paper or some shit. And this post is more of a question rather than an opinion piece. What I would like to know is, how do these weekly's work? Are they non-profit? I know they get money from advertising, but are they tax exempt? The reason for my curiosity has to do with the picture shown below. It is a coloring contest put on by the paper. Whoever wins this contest gets $200.00 plus their picture will be on the cover of the following edition. If you can't tell what it is about, it is an Easter Bunny pooping out eggs that little Jesus Christs hatch out of. After they are free, they run gayly to the church in the background.
Does this picture bother me? Yes it does...I mean I am not going to burn down embassies or behead people, but these guys and the people who support the paper wont be getting my cheddar. What really bothers me most about this picture is not the blasphemy, I mean I am not that religious and I find South Park to be hilarious, but this artest and this paper have gone to the very ends to be insulting. And I think they succeeded.

This Post Is Like A Bad Vegas Lounge Act.

I wasn't even going to dignify this with a post, but since we're on the subject of frivolous lawsuits-and blog-ust and I are ridiculously over enthused about American Idol this season-also-ran Clay Aiken's fans have filed an FTC complaint against this freak's labels. The Claymates, as they like to be called, claim that RCA and SONY/BMG falsely advertised their "star" as something other than a raging homosexual (Not that there's anything wrong with that!). Simon Cowell recently went on Larry King live and called these old ladies crazy. Also dreadful. Their rebuttal:

"We are grateful that the merits of our complaint will be heard by the FTC instead of a pretend judge from a televised talent show.""We have been dismayed to see our complaint characterized in the media as homophobic. That is not our intention and while central to our complaint it is regrettable that Mr. Aiken's sexuality has come under scrutiny. Our complaint is not about defaming Mr. Aiken or his sexual preferences. It is directed toward the deceptive practices of the record companies.""This is part of a culture of institutional deception behind James Frye, Jason Blair, ENRON, Milli Vanilli, Ashley Simpson and now Clay Aiken. We believe that it is the difference between private behavior versus public responsibility.""We await the FTC answer to our complaint and will have no further comment until that time."

It's bad enough that these psychos actually believed that Clay Aiken was some kind of burning testosterone factory, but did they really just compare Enron to Milli Vanilli? As one of the bazillion people who actually got burned by Enron, I take this as a personal afront. I didn't even lose sleep over Milli Vanilli. Mostly because the songs were so good I didn't even care who sang them.

And one last thing. If you ever run into one of Clay Aiken's representatives, run. He will likely end up selling you your own pants. Those guys are, apparently, that good.

A Little More Cut And Dry

You want a frivolous lawsuit? Knock yourself out!

I Just Love Goth Speak

Radiohead frontman Tom Yorke gave the most quotable, bitchy, Gothic wimp whine in todays Drudge Report that I had to post it.
From
"I got so stressed out and so freaked out about it. Initially when it came up I
tried to be pragmatic....But Blair has no environmental credentials as far as
I'm concerned."
To
"It was like talking to Blair's spin doctors. It was all getting weird. It was
just obvious there was no point in meeting him anyway, and I didn't want to,"
And finishing with
"I came out of that whole period just thinking, I don't want to get involved
directly, it's poison. I'll just shout my mouth off from the sidelines."
This really doesn't have any relevance for me other than that it reminded me of some of the company I kept in my younger days. But if you want to read it here it is

Rice Rocket

Now that Tagliabue is retiring as commissioner of football, the door is open for Condi Rice to take his job, but she has declined.
Nonetheless, I am wondering if there is anything this woman can't do. She seems to be up for anything and proves to us all, that in this country, race and sex do not matter. You are capable of anything. God Bless This Fucking Place! :)

I think I'm Going To Barf

I just don't even really know what to say about this. I guess I'm just glad that our founding fathers weren't too manly. Remember all that restraint we showed in WW II? Right up until they bombed Pearl Harbor? I felt Patton may have been a little too manly near the end of the war. Of course, he was following manly orders. Back then there weren't very many dissenting voices in the White House either, it seems. I wonder if Miss Marcus prefers her partners to be manly?

I'm Stumped.

At first glance I had a certain aount in restored faith in our legal system when I saw this item, but now I'm not so sure. At face value it's nice to see someone get their frivolous lawsuits thrown back in there face with a hefty penalty attached, but without more detail than is provided, how can we be sure? Discrimination and hate crime laws seem to go only one way in this country, so perhaps Mr. Murphy was trying to prove a point. Obviously going about it in a rather extreme and poorly thought out way, but trying to prove a point nonetheless. Or maybe he really is a nut job. Who can say for sure without more to go on, but I thought I'd throw this out there for some uninformed debate.

Where Does It Stop?

It worries me that although we see these things coming from a mile away, it seems nothing can be done to stop them. Like seat belts and motorcycle helmets it becomes law and we move on. Free will becomes a privilege.

Oh, Canada...You Crack Me Up.

Those of you who know me are probably aware that I am no big fan of Canada. Canadiens think they're really funny and smart and sensitive and wonderful. And hockey is their favorite sport, which doesn't make any sense at all. They have their own professional football league, which would be admirable if they hadn't made the field longer and wider with bigger end zones and more players on the field and what not. I mean, how far do you have to go to prove that even though no one could pick you out of a line-up as being such, you are 100% Canadien and not a citizen of George W. Bush's evil lair...a.k.a. the United Staes of America. Up yours Canada!

By the way, I'm all for the seal hunt in so much as I understand the need for it, but can you honestly tell me those hook bats are the best way to go about bashing those little bastards down to a manageable population?

Scientology Gives Isaac Hayes the "Shaft"

Scientology just freaks me out. I don't know if what this guy says is tue or not, but I'm just going to go ahead and say that it is. Scientologists will now take control of your stroke-addled body and quit your job if you don't properly protect yourself. You've been warned.

Release The Kraken

For months now, bloggers have been talking about thousands of papers found in Iraq linking Sadam to Al-Qaeda and WMDs, but they were never made public. No one could understand why? Well, some are finally trickling there way into the media and more are supposed to follow.
Is there and actual link? I think there is, but I am not stepping into that argument of dung again. I will leave that up to people who know better.

By the way, Michelle Malkin is showing how some media rags are already setting up disclaimers.

So That I Don't Forget

Sometimes I see some interesting graphs and quotes on the internet, but I never get around to posting them all. Here is a dogpile, presented by Gateway Pundit, I found to be interesting.

Anti-War Protest Anniversary

Eventhough support for the war in Iraq is waning amongst Americans, it appears to have company. Protests all over the world have had a considerable drop off in attendance compared to previous global protests.
example 1
example 2
I understand that the hatred for this war is still strong, but is it safe to say that it is not as strong?

Susan Sarandon to Play "Peace Mom"

Susan Sarandon is set to portray "Peace Mom" anti-war activist, Cindy "Curly Joe" Sheehan, in a biopic movie. Which will, in my opinion, become another black eye for the hollywood elite. For me, this is just another example of how so many in Hollywood are willing to hoist a woman like Curly Joe onto their shoulders, while ignoring the thousands of men and women who have sacrificed their time and their lives for this country. The same country that allows these celebrity pundits to ignore who the real heroes are. I think it is a shame.

So how is the movie going to go?
Will it talk about a woman who gave up custody for an 8 year old son she is now claiming to be fighting for?
Will it talk about how she is estranged from her friends and family and is invlolved in a divorce because of her antics?
Will it show her as an attention grubbing hog who seems to be pleased with herself everytime she is arrested?
Will we see her hobnobbing and and praising blathering Dictators like Hugo "Moe" Chavez?
Will we hear her compare iraqi insurgents to that of American Revolutionary war fighters?
And Lastly, will we hear sound bites of her accusing our President and this country of being terrorists?
If they do, they will apologize for it.

I don't think Curly's story will always be popular though and that gives me strength. I will tell you why. As our troops in the Middle East start to come home, either because individual tours of duty are up or because troop levels start to shrink as a whole, then we well hear much louder and much braver voices. Until that day, we are just going to have to endure people like Curly Joe Sheehan.

2-0-5 Video

The Jib Jab fellas have done it again. This video is great. Of course it doesn't talk about the good things that happened in 2005. Lets go down the list.
1. Successful January election in Iraq.
2. Drafting of constitution in Iraq.
3. Successful December election in Iraq.
4. U.S. unemployment dropping to 4.7%
5. 3 straight quarters of GDP positive growth averaging 4.1% in U.S. & 10 straight of 3%.
6. Two Supreme court nominees we can be proud of. Roberts and Alito.
7. Lebanons move to take their country back and remove Syrian Soldiers.
8. Free elections in Egypt
9. Jon Boltons appointment as U.N. Ambassador.
10. Trial on Sadam begins.
I can't think of anything else, so if you have anymore, feel free to join in.

I'll Post The Damn Article.

How do I feel about this? That's a doozy. I don't think you could ever set this type of precedent, because once you do it leads to every deadbeat father in the country trying to get out of paying child support. Countless hours of court time. Taxpayers money. The sad thing is, there are probably some out there who are, at least to a degree, on the wrong end of the current laws. The plaintiff here claims the woman he impregnated assured him over and over again that she could not get pregnant. Should the man be expected to take her in for a physical? If she's telling the truth, and can prove it, the responsibility lies somewhere in the middle; If such a condition doesn't exist, though, doesn't the risk and therefore consequence, lay more squarely in her court?

Let's beat this one into the ground people, cause I am excited to figure out how I really feel about it!

Al-Qaeda Bill Of Rights

Ever since Abu Ghraib, the media has been flooding our airwaves and televisions with horror stories about US held prisoners of this war on terror. Especially when regarding Guatanamo Bay.
1.) We had the discredited story on the supposed "Koran Flushing" reported by Newsweek.
2.) Sen. Dick Durbin Calling Guatanamo Bay a "gulag."
3.) John McCain's ban on torture.
4.) Europe's Chorus, with top soloist Angela Merkel, to close Club Gitmo.
...so on and so forth.
So what do the prisoners think of their treatment? Why don't we ask them.

Are The Left's Fears Becoming A Reality?

Captain Ed, over at Captain's Quarters, has a couple of interesting posts today.
A Direct Assault On Judicial Activism
Gop Conservatives Take A Stand
I think that if both of these two issues fall towards Republican interest...ummm...you decide.

If It Works, Clinton Wins. If It Fails, Bush Loses.

Republican Congressman, Peter King of New York, explained that the best way to break the impasse over the Dubai ports deal is to have "an American firm take over operations for U.S. terminals purchased by Dubai Ports World." He later suggested that Ex-president Clinton "would be the ideal intermediary to persuade Dubai officials to go along with such an arrangement" due to his close relationship with United Arab Emirates. Read it

Earlier this week New York Daily News said its sources say Halliburton is "the U.S. company best equipped to partner with DP World...."
Halliburton???
Ahhh...this again. I can see the signs on the streets of SF already. "Cheney planned this from the beginning. He tried to sellout homeland security in order to get Halliburton in on the Ports deal! They tricked us again!" Does it matter that Schumer prefers Halliburton? or does it matter "that Halliburton was a favorite contractor of the Clinton Pentagon?" I don't think it does. There is a conspiracy here and be sure of one thing, if this goes through, a movie starring George Clooney will be made.

Unanimous

This was great to read this morning:

Unanimous

Now I'm just hoping they apply such ruling to San Francisco.

There's another subtle note to this story: the reliance on federal funding. I'm very much for a small federal government, you know like this country used to have before WWII, like this country was founded on.

But those that propose big government will then be subject to such control by the feds, as witnessed by this case. The federal government was able to control the school by withholding money. If the school (you can add state, city, etc. here) wasn't so reliant on federal funds it would then have more freedom to do as it chooses.

Whoops, I'm letting my Libertarian show.

John Kerry Blogs

John Kerry has been known to read blogs off the internet along with his wife P.H.K. Kerry has even gone so far as to submit a post on a very popular liberal Blog called the Daily Kos. I read it...it was OK.
Anyway, a few weeks ago a video was posted and circulated through the internet. Democrat Video It is a video that features FDR, Truman and Kennedy and the title of the video is called "What Happened To The Old Democratic Party? What's The Deal With Today's Crazies?"
Hmmmm....Do you think Kerry saw this video? Could have. Kerry did evoke the dead in a recent speech. Here
Great American presidents, from Roosevelt to Truman to Kennedy, understood that
success requires a community of nations working together...
Coincidence?

T I O N in the Government makes Corruption

On Friday, Randy "Duke" Cunningham got a record breaking 8 years 4 months sentencing for accepting $2.4 million in bribes from a government contractor. Wow, that is sad, but what is really sad is that this sentencing ended a 27 year run held by Corrupt Congressional Democrats. In fact, since 1976, 13 members of Congress have been convicted in criminal court and sent to prison... How many of them were Republican? Just 2.

Lets take a look.

What Are These People Driving At?

As some of you may know, Iran has been conducting meetings to try to determine the authenticity of the Jewish Holocaust. Many saying the Holocaust was made up and yadda yadda yadda... Now Iran is seeking permission to conduct an on-site investigation of Auschwitz. Why? For what purpose? If they conclude that the Holocaust did happen, what next? and if not, then what? Only time will tell, but for me, I believe they are getting ready for something big here and they are doing everything they can in order to prepare the hearts and minds of their people. I especially believe that if they are allowed to investigate, they will most certainly conclude that the Holocaust was a hoax. Why? Well, for the same reason someone sees the Virgin Mary in a grilled cheese sandwich...THEY ARE BLINDED BY FAITH! Or maybe it will somehow justify them wanting to wipe out Israel. I am at a loss. All I can do is show one of my favorite pictures created by Protest Warrior. Maybe it will put things into perspective.

Not only will he be hosting the 78th annual "Give Yourselves a Pat on the Back" (and in my opinion proving to the world that hollywood is trying to cater to a liberal audience), but he seems to be a guest on various talk shows. Larry King being the most memorable to me. Actually I didn't watch all of it, because I find Larry King to be a drip and Jon Stewart to be un-funny. That is not true, I find Jon Stewart to be funnyish, but the Daily Show is no way as good as when it was hosted by Craig Kilborn. Alas, that was a long time ago.

Moving on, during his interview Jon Stewart was talking about Bush's statement that "Americans are addicted to oil." He made the argument that Bush doesn't address the Nations Citizens like adults and that this whole "addicted to oil" business was something that Jimmy Carter was touching on way before Bush did. I had to laugh, then I had to change the channel.

Personally I don't think Bush addresses the Nation as if they were children, but I can understand why some people feel like children when they have their fingers in their ears and are screaming "La La La I can't hear you, I can't hear you," when the President is speaking. Also, to say "Oh my God, Jimmy Carter totally said that like way before you ever did" is such an immature statement that if I was Bush, I would start talking to Americans as if they were children.
